Myskina, Pavlyuchenko and Burmistrov take part in a charity match in Kazan

Today, a charity match between the teams Burmistrov’s Friends and FIGHT NIGHTS took place at the central stadium in Kazan. About three thousand people came to watch the game and support their favorite athletes. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of the capital of the republic of Tatarstan, also attended the match.

The main time of the match ended with a score of 1:1. The outcome of the match was solved by a series of penalties, following which FIGHT NIGHTS won with a score of 3:2. After the match, athletes took part in an autograph session for young football fans.

QR codes for donations were located in the stands of the stadium. All donations will be allocated to families of children with oncological diseases through the Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Surgery.

Chairman of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports Linar Garipov said that Russian hockey player Alexander Burmistrov approached him with the idea of holding the match.

«Alexander had the idea to hold a charity match during the summer holidays. We sat down together with his initiative group, determined the format of the event and held this event today. We are glad that today we were able to hold such an amazing sports event in Kazan,”- he said.

Besides spectators, colleagues of the participants of the match came to support the athletes. Russian tennis player Anastasia Myskina supported the teams as well.

“Alexander shared his plans to hold such a good event in Kazan, so I simply could not refuse to come. As for tennis, we often hold such charity events in Moscow, since I live there. But I love Kazan and I came here today with great pleasure. Today’s main target is to help the kids,”- she shared.

Among the participants of the teams were famous Russian athletes. Hockey players Nail Yakupov, Yegor Yakovlev, Alexey Kruchinin, Grigory Panin, Alexander Svitov, Yevgeny and Andrey Svechnikov, Yaroslav Alshevsky, Artyom Sergeyev, Olympic champion, skier Alexander Legkov, ex-defender of FC Rubin Oleg Kuzmin, football player Yevgeny Cheremisin, tennis player Anastasia Myskina, played in Burmistrov’s Friends team.

Participants of two seasons of the Media League, finalists of the international tournament in Kazakhstan played in the second team. It included Russian football legend Roman Pavlyuchenko, Russian fighters Marif Piraev, Alexey Makhno, Artyom Tarasov and others.

One of the spectators came with her child from Nizhnekamsk to watch the game of the legendary Russian athletes. “Today we came to support Burmistrov's team. My child and I have been undergoing treatment in the Children’s hospital for a long time. Therefore, today's match is very important for us. It's great that in this way you can help the hospital and children, and parents – to understand that they are not alone, and feel your support,”- she shared.

The organizers hope that such matches will become a tradition, and there will be more and more people who want to attend sports holidays.
