<p> By the end of this year, the repairing of smoke exhaust systems in 16 apartment buildings is planned to be completed in Kazan. The restoration of gas equipment is essential for the hot water supply in hundreds of apartments. These repairs are being carried out in response to a large-scale inspection that revealed defects in 49 apartment buildings. Iskander Giniyatullin, Deputy Head of the Kazan Executive Committee, announced this at a staff meeting. </p> <p> «It would seem that there is nothing new in the housing and utilities sector for us. However, the problem of houses with gas-fired water heaters, both for residents and for us, has turned out to be quite unexpected. Therefore, we did not have any standard solutions for this issue. There was also no allocated financing for it. At the beginning, we did not really understand how to solve this problem, but together with the republican authorities, we managed to find a solution. And today, we know how to solve this issue», –- said Rustem Gafarov, head of the Executive Committee. </p> <p> For reference, numerous defects were identified during the inspection of the smoke exhaust and ventilation systems in 49 residential buildings in the Aviastroitelny, Kirovsky, and Moskovsky city districts. This led to the emergency shutdown of gas-fired water heaters. As a result, 1,894 apartments were completely without gas supply in 23 buildings, and 233 apartments were partially cut off in 26 buildings. </p> <p> «The property management companies managed to quickly restore chimneys in some houses and resume gas supply to 42 apartments», – Iskander Giniyatullin noted. </p> <p>   </p>
