Souvenir industry companies can enter into a license agreement for the free use of a city brand.
(KZN.RU, May 22, Ksenia Shvetsova). Goods with the identity of the capital of Tatarstan will appear in the Kazan shops very soon. The new visual brand will decorate not only souvenirs, but also other goods: clothes, food, household items. The presentation of the official identity was held today in one of the restaurants in the city. Representatives of the souvenir industry of the capital of Tatarstan, as well as journalists of local media, took part in it.
The design of the trademark was developed in 2014 by students of the British Higher School of Design in the course of practical training, said Daria Sannikova, the director of the Tourism Promotion Committee. Identity rights are already registered in the Rospatent.
Now the trademark is used in the design of public spaces of the city, scenery and press walls during major events and international exhibitions, as well as in printing and souvenir products made by the order of the Tourism Promotion Committee.
The guests of the presentation also looked at souvenirs with the identity: T-shirts, thermocouples, leather wallets and bags, pencils and pens.
“We want the guests to keep the memory of our city for many years. And souvenirs are the main items that can help to do it. Our task is to make them beautiful and special”, said Daria Sannikova. “We are ready to work actively with representatives of the industry so that the trademark will develop and become famous”.
The trademark can be used in 24 areas of the international classification of goods and services: in the manufacture of souvenirs, food, household chemicals, and others.
The souvenir market in the capital of Tatarstan is constantly evolving, noted Zhanna Belitskaya, the deputy head of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning. “I studied souvenir shops in Kazan and was pleasantly surprised that the situation was changing for the better. We have a large selection of beautiful souvenirs for everyone’s taste and wallet. But unfortunately, we do not have enough evaluation criteria and collective opinion of specialists working in the industry”, said Z. Belitskaya. She urged representatives of souvenir companies to share their opinions and suggestions on the development of the industry.
Representatives of the souvenir companies positively assessed the visualization of the trademark and asked how they can purchase rights to use it. D. Sannikova explained that in order to obtain the right to use the Kazan identity, it is necessary to conclude a licensing agreement with the Tourism Promotion Committee. In this case, the right to use will be granted to licensees free of charge.
Today, a guideline is being developed with detailed guidance on how to use a trademark.
“We want the identity to be used in urban life, in the design of bus stops, facades of restaurants, hotels and various household items related to the daily life of citizens. We are open to cooperation and are looking forward to your feedback and suggestions”, D. Sannikova addressed the guests at the end of the presentation.
