Vladimir Leonov, the minister of Sport of the RT, announced this today at the press conference at the IA “Tatar-inform”. </p> <p> </p> <p> The speaker said that now a new sports facility is at the design stage. They need to find a place where the center will be located and a program under which the sports facility will be built. According to Vladimir Leonov, there are many people in the republic who want to do figure skating, so a separate sports facility is really needed. </p> <p> </p> <p> The project will be implemented soon. The center will contribute to the development of the sports infrastructure of the city and the republic, believes the minister of Sports of the RT. </p> <p> </p> <p> “In the coming years, we will implement this project. These are good infrastructural prospects, because Kazan has many opportunities, but there is a request for the development of figure skating. We need a separate palace for it”, said Vladimir Leonov. </p> <p> </p> <p> The minister of Sports of the RT added that at the beginning of the year, the republic would send an appeal to the Russian Figure Skating Federation about the possibility of holding the Russian championship in Kazan. “We asked this question last year, but, unfortunately, the federation has a long-term contract, which lists the championships until 2021. We will send an appeal at the beginning of the year. It will depend on their relationship with other cities that host the championship. If there is a mutual interest, then we are ready”, said V. Leonov. </p>
