A research center for the study of wooden folk architecture will appear in Kazan

<p> (KZN.RU, January 14). The research center for the study of wooden folk architecture will appear in Kazan on the basis of the KSUAE. This was announced today at a meeting of the final board of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage in the RT. The meeting was devoted to the theme “On the work carried out in the RT on the preservation, use, promotion, and state protection of cultural heritage sites in 2018 and tasks for 2019”. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to Ivan Guschin, the chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage in the RT, the work is being carried out to preserve wooden architecture by the instructions of the President of the RT. “There were relevant developments in the regional society for the protection of monuments of the Ministry of Culture of the RT, including design estimates for a number of objects. A roundtable was held at the KSUAE in order to further develop the industry. It is planned to create the research center for the study of wooden folk architecture on the basis of the KSUAE”, said Ivan Guschin. </p> <p> </p> <p> Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, took part in the work of the board and supported the proposal. “Yes, I agree with the head of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage in the RT. We need to create a center of competence for wooden architecture”, said Rustam Minnikhanov. According to him, it should be a whole cluster with the KSUAE, resource centers, construction colleges, as well as other structures where experts are trained in techniques in terms of preserving and studying wooden architecture. </p> <p> </p> <p> In general, R. Minnikhanov noted that in recent years, much has been done in the RT in the field of preservation of cultural heritage sites and the restoration of historical and cultural monuments. Mintimer Shaimiev, the State Councilor of the RT, Roman Rybalo, the director of the Department of State Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, and others also took part in the board meeting, reports the press service of the President of the RT. </p>
