The sports results of the year were summed up in Kazan

The prize “Sports Kazan” was awarded to athletes, coaches and representatives of sports schools in the city.

(KZN.RU, December 14, Alina Berezhnaya). Today the sporting results of 2018 summed up in the Kazan City Hall. The awarding ceremony of the “Sports Kazan” prize took place there. In a solemn ceremony, the winners have been awarded in 11 nominations, including athletes, coaches and representatives of the city’s sports schools.

Rustem Gafarov, the first deputy head of the Kazan Executive Committee, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. “Any victory is an instant compared to the time when you prepare for it. To win, an athlete needs not just the will. The help of coaches, teams, parents, and families is also important. I want this whole sports unit to be one. For our part, we will do everything so that sports and physical education in Kazan develop at the proper level”, marked R. Gafarov.

Khalil Shaikhutdinov, the first deputy minister of Sport, also congratulated the guests on the successful completion of another sports year. He noted that Kazan regularly confirms the status of the sports region. “We are lucky that we live in Kazan, where special attention is paid to physical culture and sports”, said Kh. Shaykhutdinov.

At the ceremony, the statuettes of the prize winners were awarded to athletes who showed high results in various competitions, as well as coaches who have trained athletes for decades. The main nominations “Sportsman of the Year” and “Best Coach of the Year” were divided into Olympic, non-Olympic and Paralympic sports. For example, “Sportsman of the Year in Olympic Sports” was Egor Kuimov, a graduate of the Sports School “Kasatka”, an international-class master of sports. This year he became the gold and bronze medalist of the Russian Swimming Championships, the silver medalist of the European Championship and two-time silver medalist of the World Cup. Also, the title “Sportsman of the Year in Olympic Sports” was given to Svetlana Lipatova, the strongest athlete in the Russian freestyle wrestling team. “Best Coaches of the Year in Olympic Sports” were Eduard Gizatullin, a coach-teacher of the Sports School “Kasatka”, and Sergey Druzhkov, the coach-teacher of the Sports School of the Vakhitovsky district.

In non-Olympic sports, Egor Trifonov was noted, who since childhood has been professionally engaged in billiards, has repeatedly become the winner of All-Russian competitions. The title of “Best Coach in Non-Olympic Sports” was given to Anastasia Salmova, a coach-teacher at the school “Spektr”.

The best athlete in the Paralympic sports was Polina Platonova, a student of the Sports School “Tasma”. The title of “Best Coach in Paralympic Sports” was given to Anna Samoilova, a coach-teacher of the Sports School “Tasma”.

By the results of the year, athletes of sports teams were also noted: the “SShOR Water Polo Team” became the winner in this category. In 2018, athletes won the Russian water polo championship among juniors under 17 years old. Rais Kovyazin, the coach, received the award and the title of “Best Team Coach of the Year in Team Sports”.

The surprise of the evening was the choice of the winner in the nomination “Pride of Kazan” introduced last year. This title is awarded to those athletes who have made the greatest contribution to the glorification of Kazan in the international sports arena. The winner in this nomination was Pavel Mukhin, the first athlete from Russia who won the world title in break dance.

Also, awards were received by children's coaches, teachers and staff of Kazan sports schools. Thus, the title of “Best Young Specialist of the Municipal Youth Sports School” was given to Artur Talipov, the coach-teacher of the Sports School “Dinamo”. Iskander Shagin, the coach-teacher of the school “Privolzhanka” and the coach-teacher of the Sports School “Ak Bure”, won in the nomination “Best Children's Coach”. “Best Director” was Igor Ionov, the director of the children's school “Kasatka”. Svetlana Tyurina, a coach and instructor of the school “Gratsia”, was awarded “For devotion to sport”. “Best Coach at the Place of Residence of Kazan” was Farid Khuzyazyanov, a coach of the teenage club “Olympian”. The title of “Best Teacher of Physical Education in Kazan” was given to Tamara Yashina, a teacher from the school №84 of the Sovetsky district of Kazan. The winner in the nomination “Best Employee of a Municipal Institution” was Gulnara Magdieva, the deputy director for educational work of the Sports School “Ak Bure”.
