The House of the Tatar Book will open in Kazan

Thematic co-working, printing house, mapping zone and library will appear on the basis of the Museum of the History of Tatar Literature.

(KZN.RU, May 14, Alena Miroshnichenko). The reconstruction of the building of the Museum of the History of Tatar Literature with the memorial apartment-museum of Sharif Kamal was completed in Kazan. A new exposition will be opened there, the House of the Tatar Book. Gulchachak Nazipova, the general director of the National Museum of the RT, announced this at the press conference in the Ministry of Culture of the RT today.

The new House of the Tatar Book will include a number of interesting and interactive work areas. There will be co-working with lecture halls, educational programs and creative meetings on various topics, a printing house where visitors can publish their booklets, brochures and first books, exhibition halls with unique exhibits demonstrating the history of the Tatar book, a mapping area with historical chronicles and archival records, as well as a bookstore, library, and children's area.

Gulchachak Nazipova marked that the main task facing the museum and the exhibition is the preservation and development of the Tatar language, drawing the attention of young people to the history of the book.

The memorial apartment-museum of Sharif Kamal opened in 1950 and became the first museum dedicated to the Tatar writer. Luiza Sharova, the museum director, said that the decision to create the Tatar Book House on the basis of this museum was made by the reason. At one time, it was the “epicenter” of the Tatar literary and cultural movement. Works of Karim Tinchurin, Kavi Nadzhmi, Musa Jalil, and many others presented for audience.

Now the site is intended to be a consolidating one. “The museum is a place of preservation of life and spiritual values. I very much hope that this sikte will become an interest club that will unite people who care about the future of our language”, said Irada Ayupova, the minister of Culture of the RT.

After the opening of the new exhibition, the museum staff will begin work on the creation of a single Tatar book portal, where everyone will be able to look into the archives of Tatar classics, said Luiza Sharova.
