The coastal zone and the bottom of Lake Lesnoe will be cleaned in Kazan

Divers of the Federation of underwater sports and members of the Russian Geographical Society of the RT will join the cleaning.

(KZN.RU, July 12). Tomorrow, a large-scale ecological campaign to clean the coastal zone and the bottom of the reservoir will be held on Lake Lesnoe in the Aviastroitelny district of Kazan. Its participants will clear debris from the coastal zone, and scuba divers of the Federation of underwater sports and members of the Russian Geographical Society will clean the lake’s bottom.

The staff of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the RT, activists of environmental and social movements will attend the event, as well as everyone who wants to support the campaign. This is the third time when divers clean the coastal areas this year, and another 5 events to clean water reservoirs in Kazan are planned in the future.

A large-scale work on the purification of water bodies and the coastal zone has been carried out in the RT since 2005, reports the press service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the RT. Over the past year, more than 4000 people took part in the campaign and collected more than 500 tons of garbage.

The campaign will begin at 10 am, everyone can support eco-activists.
