Points for recycling “Clean Environment” are being updated in Kazan

The plans of the project organizers are to start receiving the glass containers and launch a line for recycling waste paper into egg cells.

(KZN.RU, July 24, Alsu Safina). The pavilions with recycling centers for the “Clean Environment” project are renewed in Kazan. Now there are 8 such points in the city where city residents can hand over waste paper, cardboard, PET bottles, bottles of household chemicals, aluminum cans. It is planned to open one more point in Pobezhimov Street in the near future and gradually increase the number of recycling points under the brand name “Clean Environment” to 20. In addition, , Kazan citizens will be able to hand over glass very soon.

One of the updated points for recycling is located next to the house №72 on Fuchik Street. It was opened in 2015, when the project was implemented in the pilot mode. Now, there is a new pavilion on the site of the old one, its area is 20 sq. m. There is a small utility room, a floor weighing-machine, and a press, which is necessary so that the recycled materials collected by the inhabitants take up less space. Updating of one point costs about 400 thousand rubles.

The recycled materials are exported fr om here every 2-3 days. It is transported to the warehouse on M. Milya Street, №61. There are 4 people in a warehouse who conduct the final sorting of recyclables and its pressing. After that, the raw materials are sent to the processors. For example, the cardboard is transported to the plant in Mari El. The rest of the recyclable material remains in Tatarstan.

Viktor Simonenko works as a receptionist at the point on Fuchik Street from 8 am to 4 pm for the second year. He said that about 10 people come here daily. The peak day is Monday, and also Wednesday and Thursday are very busy days. Most often, people bring cardboard, waste paper, and PET bottles. People of different ages bring recyclable materials. Most people prefer to come from the very morning.

70% of the recyclable materials that are delivered to the points are waste paper, said Zarina Naumova, one of the managers of the project “Clean Environment”. According to her, some points gather up to 1 ton and more recyclables a day. In total, more than 5 thousand tons of secondary raw materials have been accepted since 2016, of which 3.7 thousand tons are waste paper. All the collected materials occupy an area of more than 35 thousand cubic meters. All this garbage was recycled, which means that it did not get to the landfills. In turn, residents of the city earned more than 30 million rubles during this period.

Now there are 8 points in the city, soon the reception point will open on Pobezhimov Street. The work schedule of points is corrected according to wishes of citizens. Some time ago, there was a staff turnover, but now the situation with the receivers has stabilized. One of the main criteria for recruiting staff is that they are polite and do not deceive customers.

The project “Clean Environment” is planned to be developed. Yan Naumov, the project manager, said that now the question of glass reception is being decided. It is planned to place glass containers next to the points of reception. “Now technical issues are being solved, we are calculating logistics”, said Yan Naumov. He drew attention to the fact that residents will be able to pass a glass bottle. “There are a number of enterprises that deal with the processing of glass in Ufa, Mineralnye Vody, and Gus-Khrustalny. Now we are choosing a partner”, said the project manager. In 2019, the glass processing plant will open in Tatarstan.

In the framework of the project “Clean Environment”, it is planned to launch a line for recycling waste paper into egg cells. According to Yan Naumov, now cells are purchased in Bashkortostan, Belgorod region, or Mari El, and poultry farms are interested in making them in Tatarstan. At the moment, together with the Ministry of Economy of the RT, they choose the industrial zone, wh ere this production could be placed.

In addition, a franchise has been launched. Businessmen from Samara, Izhevsk, Ufa, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, and other cities came to Kazan to study the experience and get acquainted with the project “Clean Environment”.

As in previous years, actions are also planned to collect waste paper in mobile centers, the proceeds will be given to charity.
