5 points of used batteries reception opened in Kazan

In the near future, special containers will appear in other parts of the city.

(KZN.RU, January 11). 5 points of used batteries reception opened in Kazan.

The pilot project was launched in November last year. More than 5 tons of batteries were collected in two months. The analysis was carried out: the containers will be removed fr om places wh ere the collection wasn’t active enough. New large bins will appear in busy areas of the city.

Containers are located in the hall of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the RT, in the mall “Tandem”, in the store “Leroy Merlin” (Amirkhan, №3), the mall “Yuzhny”, and in the hypermarket “Bakhetle”. Also, a new point of batteries and accumulators reception is opened in the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the RT.

In the near future, the bins will appear in the shopping center “Gorki Park”, in the shopping center “Prospect”, in the mall “Frant”, in the store “Leroy Merlin” (Orenburgsky Tract, №174) and in the hypermarket “Selgros Cash & Carry”, reports the press service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the RT.

Used chemical current sources belong to the 1st hazard class of household garbage. They contain tin, mercury, zinc, magnesium, nickel, cadmium, lead, and one finger battery can pollute from 10-15 square meters of soil or 400 liters of water.
