A distinctive «Green Leaf» mark has been developed for hotels in Kazan

Hotels that meet the eco-friendly agenda will be able to receive it

Hotels in the capital of Tatarstan that meet an eco-friendly agenda can receive a special “Green Leaf” mark. This initiative was developed by the Kazan Tourism Development Committee and the Association of Hotels in Kazan and Tatarstan.

To qualify for this mark, hotels must meet certain criteria, including: adherence to energy and water conservation principles, garbage sorting, and minimal use of single-use items (such as plastic tubes and bottles). They must also cooperate with waste recycling companies. In addition, social projects and accessibility for people with disabilities are taken into consideration.

«Today, a large number of tourists are paying attention to what eco-initiatives are being implemented in hotels, such as environmentally friendly products and separate waste collection in the hotels», - explained Daria Sannikova, head of the Tourism Development Committee.

For today, Kazan Palace, Tasigo, Nogai, and Riviera hotels have all been awarded with «Green Leaf» for their efforts.
