The victory of the national team of Tatarstan in the finals of the VII National Championship “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) is the result of a great deal of work in developing the WorldSkills movement. But the goal is not just to participate and win in the championships. First of all, the best world techniques, technologies, and standards that are introduced by the WorldSkills movement into the educational system are important. This gives young people the opportunity to be competitive and in demand in the modern labor market. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, announced this today in the CLC Lenin at the ceremony of honoring the winners of the VII National Championship “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia).
Before the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov visited an exhibition dedicated to the participation of the Tatarstan national team in WorldSkills movement. He was accompanied by Rafis Burganov, the minister of Education and Science of the RT, Denis Kalinkin, the head of Kazan Executive Committee, and Emil Gubaidullin, the manager of WorldSkills Kazan 2019 project. A presentation of the development of the championship “Young Professionals” in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2017-2019 was also held there.
The President of the RT also got acquainted with the stand dedicated to the perpetuation of the memory of Vitaly Kopylov, a Hero of Socialist Labor, an Honored Machine Builder of the RF. In May of this year, it was decided to propose the establishment of a departmental badge of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the RF, the V. Kopylov Medal. It happened at the meeting of the interdepartmental commission on the perpetuating the memory of prominent figures of Tatarstan who contributed to the development of the region. In August, it is planned to organize the opening ceremony of the bust of Vitaly Kopylov in Kazan.
Afterward, the ceremony of honoring the winners of the finals of the VII National Championship “Young Professionals” took place in the CLC Lenin, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
Rustam Minnikhanov once again reminded that the Republic of Tatarstan took first place in the team event in the final of the National WorldSkills Championship. “This is our third victory in the 7-year history of WorldSkills movement in Russia”, he said. “An excellent result has been achieved on our Kazan site, the WorldSkills World Championship will be held here in August. During the competition, about 1700 contestants from 80 regions of Russia demonstrated their skills in 92 WorldSkills competencies and 48 WorldSkills Juniors competencies. The Tatarstan national team was represented by 260 contestants and 216 experts. 218 contestants won 150 medals: 58 golden, 49 silver, 43 bronze ones, and also 26 medallions for professionalism. First of all, I want to express my gratitude to the mentors and experts who prepared the champions. Your skill, professionalism and hard work made it possible to achieve high results”.
Rustam Minnikhanov addressed separate congratulations to the winners of the championship. “Your victory in the final is a great start to your career, new victories in international competitions, the development of your professionalism”, said the President of the RT. “You have gained tremendous experience that will give an invaluable advantage in future career and personal development. It will bring a chance to present Russia as part of the national team WorldSkills Russia at the World Championships in Shanghai in 2021 and at the European Championships EuroSkills in St. Petersburg in 2022”.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, the heads of municipalities should hold meetings and honoring the winners of the championship in regions and cities. All of them are an inspiring example for students who are facing a profession choice.
In addition, Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to the volunteers. Due to their work, the guests and participants had pleasant impressions about Tatarstan, the quality of service and maintenance of the competitions and forums.
“The current victory is the result of the great work of Tatarstan on the development of the WorldSkills movement. Our goal is not just to participate and win championships. First of all, the best world techniques, technologies, and standards that are introduced by the WorldSkills movement into our education system are important for us. Thus, we increase the opportunity for young people to become competitive and in demand in the modern labor market. Further development of the republic depends on this”, said Rustam Minnikhanov.
The President of the RT noted the leading educational organizations that have achieved success in preparing the winners.
Especially Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out educational organizations that prepared the largest number of medalists. These are the Interregional Competence Center – Kazan Technical School of Information Technologies and Communications (19 medals won) and the Engineering School of the Technical University for Gifted Children (13 medals).
Rustam Minnikhanov marked that a fairly powerful base of vocational education has been created in the republic. 70000 students are studying in more than 200 specialties and working professions in 91 institutions of secondary vocational education.
“We have created 31 resource centers with the latest equipment. This year, 6 more resource centers will be created. We will continue this work together with leading enterprises”, said the President of the RT.
In general, the past championship has become an important stimulus for the popularization of working professions, attracting the attention of the business community and the public to the issues of improving professional standards, and the training of demanded qualified personnel. Rustam Minnikhanov also reminded that 2019 was declared the Year of Workers in the RT.
Rustam Minnikhanov also noted that the final of the national championship became the rehearsal of the world competitions, which will be held in Kazan in August. More than 1600 contestants from 67 countries will compete in 56 competencies on WorldSkills standards. Rustam Minnikhanov invited everyone to watch the WorldSkills Championship.
