Activists of the “Tom Sawyer Fest” renewed the foundation of house №12 on Kalinin Street on Kazan

Now, the painting of the facade has begun at the site, after which it is planned to hold a sewage and water supply system in the house.

(KZN.RU, June 20). In Kazan, volunteers of the “Tom Sawyer Fest”, a festival for the restoration of the historical environment, renovated the foundation of house №12 on Kalinin Street and started painting the facade.

“The foundation was weakened, and the crowns began to rot. We cleaned out the rot, infused the foundation with special compounds, made a brick ebb and foundation”, said Dmitry Polosin, the coordinator of the “Tom Sawyer Fest” in Kazan. “Due to such simple work, this house will last another 30 years without replacing the crowns and without major expenses”.

After finishing the painting works, the object will be prepared for sewage and water supply works. Approximately at the end of the summer, residents of the house will already live with comfort. This year the object will be connected to the city networks for the first time within the framework of the All-Russian festival, said the festival organizers. In general, the work on the site will last more than a month.

The house at Kalinin Street, №12, is a sample of wooden architecture of the XIX-XX centuries. Supposedly it was built before 1905.

Over the summer, activists plan to renew 3 houses in the historic center of the city.
