The fire was transferred to the new memorial complex of the Great Patriotic War in Yudino.
(KZN.RU, May 7, Ksenia Shvetsova). Today, at 8 am, a train arrived in Kazan from Moscow, which brought the Eternal Flame to the capital of Tatarstan from the Grave of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin wall. The Eternal Flame was transferred to the new memorial complex of the Great Patriotic War in Yudino, which will be solemnly opened tomorrow after reconstruction.
It was raining in Kazan in the morning, but the sky cleared a few minutes before the arrival of the branded train from Moscow. However, even the most inclement weather could not extinguish the lamp with the Eternal Flame. It was transported in a special protective capsule. A separate seat was allocated for it in the train to ensure the safety of passengers, the fire was constantly monitored by the workers who took it from Red Square.
The capsule with the fire was handed over to the students of the school №120 by Eduard Muskarinov, the train chief. Tomorrow the lamp will light the Eternal Flame at the memorial at the opening ceremony of the new memorial complex of the Great Patriotic War in Yudino.
The memorial in Yudino was built by the enterprises of the Yudinsky railway node in the 1980s, said Alexander Cheremnov, the deputy head of the Gorky Railway. “We planned to reconstruct the memorial by the 75th anniversary of the Victory”, he said. “The President of Tatarstan supported us and sent funds from the budget of the republic for these purposes. Also funds for the reconstruction of the allocated company “Russian Railways”. The quality of work is excellent. God grant it another 100 years and even more to stand”. New ideas were added to the memorial during the reconstruction, but they tried to preserve the basis, he added. “It turned out a wonderful memorial that will symbolize the memory of those who fought on the war fronts, who forged the Victory in the rear and created a peaceful sky for us, so that we could live, work and create”, said A. Cheremnov.
This year, the renovated Alley of Military Glory and square in honor of the fallen railway workers will open in Yudino. In addition, a new monument to the “Border Guards of Tatarstan” opened in the residential complex “Tankodrom”.
