The program includes ancient church chants, Russian classical and modern spiritual music (Glinka, Rachmaninov, Chesnokov, Bordak), lyrical and patriotic songs of the First World War and the Great Patriotic War (Soloviev-Sedoy, Dykhovichny, Migulya), poems of the Silver Age. The Choir of the Valaam Monastery was established in August 2005 on the restoration and consecration of the Preobrazhensky Cathedral, the main shrine of the Valaam Monastery. It is a church and singing collective that annually participates in the Patriarchal divine services on Valaam and its courtyards.
