The Choir of the Valaam Monastery will perform at the GSCH named after S. Saidashev

<p> (KZN.RU, February 6). The Choir of the Valaam Monastery will perform with the musical and poetic program “The Light of Valaam” on February 10 at the Great State Concert Hall named after S. Saidashev. </p> <p> </p> <p> The program includes ancient church chants, Russian classical and modern spiritual music (Glinka, Rachmaninov, Chesnokov, Bordak), lyrical and patriotic songs of the First World War and the Great Patriotic War (Soloviev-Sedoy, Dykhovichny, Migulya), poems of the Silver Age. The concert starts at 6 pm, reports the press service of the GSCH. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Choir of the Valaam Monastery was established in August 2005 on the restoration and consecration of the Preobrazhensky Cathedral, the main shrine of the Valaam Monastery. It is a church and singing collective that annually participates in the Patriarchal divine services on Valaam and its courtyards. </p>
