This year, 226 residential buildings in Kazan will undergo overhaul under the renovation program

Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of renovation at 31 Gasprinskogo Street

In Kazan, 226 residential buildings will be overhauled under the housing renovation program, the improvements will affect 67,700 citizens. Currently, the work is underway in 15 apartment buildings, where elevator equipment is being replaced. This was announced at an off-site meeting by Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin. He visited residential building №31 on Gasprinskogo Street in Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda and informed residents that this year the facade, roof, utility systems and entrances of the building will be repaired.

«The house is not very old, it's only 30 years old. We usually begin overhaul in the residential buildings, which were built 50–60 years ago. Apparently, it was not built well. Now we want to agree with the residents on the new facade for the house and offer them some options. At their request, we will increase the budget and also repair the utilities and entrance in addition to the facade and roof. Last year, we renovated 179 houses and this year we plan 226. There will be more work for the construction workers, but I'm sure they can handle it. We will monitor the quality», – said the Mayor.

The residential building on Gasprinskogo Street 31 was built in stages. During the renovation, the entrances will be renovated, the walls will be insulated, and the plaster on the house and blind areas of the entrance groups will be updated.

The roof of the building is leaking, despite the fact that the property management company often carries out patching work. To fix this problem, the roof will be completely overhauled. Additionally, the building will have central heating, electricity, a weather control system, water supply, and sanitation facilities.

A resident of the house appealed to the head of the city with a request to landscape the yard. Currently, there are several holes on the roads and sidewalks.

«This year, we plan to overhaul the building, which will involve a significant amount of construction equipment being brought into the yard. In order to ensure that one project does not interfere with another, the next year, the yard will be renovated under the republican program», – the Mayor assured. The adjacent area will then be included in the Our Yard republican program for 2026.

The renovation works will begin after the bidding process and the selection of a contractor. The works are scheduled to be completed by September.

More than 4,200 houses have been renovated in Kazan since the start of the housing renovation program. Work has been carried out comprehensively at 1,329 sites, and a total of 226 houses will be renovated this year. Seasonal work under the program is scheduled to be completed by August 15, with major repairs of residential buildings completed by December 1.

Construction and installation work will be carried out in 91 apartment buildings, and lift platforms will be replaced in another 135. As of today, workers from Lift-Stroy LLC have begun replacing the cabins in 15 residential building.
