This year 146 streets have been repaired in Kazan - it’s 4 times more than was planned

More than 7.2 billion rubles have been provided from the Republican and Federal budgets for the road works.

Kazan is recognized as a leader among cities of Russia in terms of the road network development. According to the results of the survey conducted by the Financial University under the government of Russia, the capital of Tatarstan, ahead of Moscow and Naberezhnye Chelny, stands first in the ranking of cities with a population over 250 thousand people.

Igor Kulyazhev- deputy head of the Executive Committee of Kazan - chairman of the land improvement Committee, said today at the Business Monday, such results were achieved due to the support of Tatarstan and the Federal government.

The inspection of the All-Russian People’s front assessed the quality of Kazan roads as “excellent”

This year, more than 7.2 billion rubles have been provided from the Republican and Federal budgets for the road works, I.Kulyazhev said. Of which, 2.2 billion rubles – for the implementation of the national project “Safe and high-quality roads”, 4 billion rubles - for the improvement of the street and road network, the routes of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Championship, the territories of educational institutions, another 1 billion rubles-for the maintenance of yard areas. "Compared to the last year, the amount of funding increased by 1 billion rubles, while for each ruble provided from the Federal budget, the Republic provided 5 rubles", - Kulyazhev said.

One of the priority national projects implemented in Kazan is “Safe and high-quality roads”. As part of the project, 72 city and suburban streets and 20 sidewalks were repaired on a total area of 610 thousand square meters.

Most of the roads were repaired before the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 -74 road sections, 22 sidewalks and 34 territories of educational institutions were improved according to the standards.

As I.Kulyazhev reported, the roads and sidewalks, that had a biggest amount of wear and number of complaints, have been repaired.

This year, the most complicated and remarkable locations have become Dubravnaya, Krasnoy Pozitsy and Kaspiyskaya streets.

One of the most important venues for the development of the road network was the construction of the section of the Big Kazan ring (BKR) from Midhat Bulatov street to Boriskovskaya street. "Work at this location is carried out in accordance with the schedule and will be completed in 2020", - said I.Kulyazhev and added that the design of the second stage of construction is underway.

On June 2019, the road inspection of the All-Russian People’s front visited Kazan to check the state of the road network and road safety. The quality of Kazan roads was assessed by the inspection as “excellent”.

Cycle lanes at Yershov str. and Voskhod str.

This year, a lot of work has been done to develop cyclist traffic. Wide sidewalks were separated into pedestrian and cycle lanes by special markings at Yershov str. and Voskhod str. “In the future, we plan to use this separation at other streets with wide sidewalks, if we have proper financial opportunities”, - Kulyazhev said.

5 thousand additional parking spaces at the repaired yards

In addition to the repair of highways, the roads in the yards are renovated. This year, 296 yard areas with an area of 300 thousand square meters have been improved. In 14 yards, scheduled for complex improvement, in addition to the repair of asphalt pavement, children's play grounds facilities and sports equipment were installed.

For the first time in the implementation of the program of improvement of yard areas, special attention was paid to street lighting. Also, the renovated yards were equipped with 5 thousand additional parking spaces.

The “Our yard” program will make the yards a comprehensive public area

Evgenia Lodvigova - first deputy head of the municipality of Kazan, noted that the increase of the number of repaired roads by 4 times and sidewalks by 2 times has become possible thanks to the support of the Republic. "In March, we talked about plans to repair 32 streets this year, and as a result, 146 city and suburban streets were repaired", - E.Lodvigova stated. “We were able to expand the list of works, in particular, for the first time this year we paid attention to lighting in the yards", - E.Lodvigova said. Speaking about the improvement of yards, the Vice-mayor expressed hope that this work will continue thanks to the new presidential program “Our yard”. “Today, the road surface in most of the Kazan yards is repaired, and I want to believe that the new presidential program “Our yard” will bring this work to an end in the coming years, as well as make the yards a comprehensive public area where all can play sports and celebrate holidays with neighbors”, - concluded E.Lodvigova.
