315 Kazan families will receive one-time financial assistance in the days of the Decade of Disabled People.

29 catering establishments and 10 colleges and beauty salons will provide services for people with disabilities for free.

Sports, cultural and social events are planned in all districts of Kazan in the framework of the Decade of Disabled People, which will be held fr om 1 to 10 of December. Rustem Gafarov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee of Kazan, told in detail about the events of the decade at the Business Monday today.

During the decade, special attention will be devoted to medical care for people with disabilities. “In the days of the decade, the healthcare institutions organize the raid of district brigades to families of non-transportable disabled people. Consultations on the provision of medical care will take place in all clinics”, said Rustem Gafarov.

Representatives of the business community also joined the organization to help people with disabilities. Thus, people with disabilities will be free to dine and visit beauty salons during the decade. Services will be provided by 29 catering establishments and 10 institutions of secondary vocational education and beauty salons. Rustem Gafarov said that the disabled who live alone will not be left without attention. “For lonely disabled people who are on social services at home, will get help in cleaning apartments and house territories, and hairdressing services will be provided”, said R. Gafarov.

Every year, material assistance is allocated from the city budget for single mothers, single mothers with disabilities, and families who are raising children with disabilities. This year, 315 Kazan families will receive one-time financial assistance.

During the decade of disabled people, a large number of cultural and entertainment events are planned in the city. The decade will open on November 30. A gala concert of cultural and charitable creativity “Good Wave” will be held in the cultural center “Pyramida”. 130 children from orphanages, children left without parental care, children from large and low-income families, and children with disabilities will perform at one scene with Russian pop artists Philipp Kirkorov, Sergey Lazarev, Valeria, and others.

A citywide concert for the disabled will be held on December 3 at the HoC Lenin.

On December 7, a gala concert of the festival of artistic creativity of people with disabilities “Vozmemsya Za Ruki Drusya!” (Rus. “Let us join hands, friends!”) will be held at the Puppet Theater “Ekiyat”. The festival will bring together 700 participants from 20 boarding schools and orphanages of the republic. For the first time, young artists from Moscow and the Samara region will perform at the gala concert.

Sporting events are scheduled in the decade of disabled people as well. One of them was held last Saturday. Kazan joined the All-Russian festival “Day of inclusive sports. GTO without borders”, wh ere 50 children aged from 7 to 14 years, including 25 children and teenagers with disabilities, passed the GTO standards in several disciplines.

The action “Health Ski Day” will take place in the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest on December 5. More than 300 students of correctional schools and boarding schools will be able to ski. On that day, the Directorate of Parks and Squares and the Fund “Alpari” organize free skating on specialized snow scooters for children with cerebral palsy.

Rustem Gafarov also reminded that since last year, families with disabled children in Kazan have been granted property tax benefits, and now the experience of the capital of Tatarstan is being broadcast to other districts and cities of the republic.

Denis Kalinkin, the head of the Kazan Executive Committee, expressed confidence that no one would stand aside from participating in charity events within the framework of the Decade of Disabled People. He also urged to inform citizens about the events held in the framework of the decade.

Today, 87622 disabled people live in Kazan, of which 4667 are children.
