More than 90 cultural events will be held in Kazan in the days of the World Cup

All the famous collectives of the republic will come to the capital, and the theatrical season will last at least a month.

(KZN.RU, May 11, Ksenia Shvetsova). More than 90 specially organized cultural events will take place in Kazan in the days of the World Cup, fr om June 12 to July 15. They will cover all areas of art: concerts, theaters, museums, movies, and much more. Theatrical and entertaining institutions that usually rest in the summer, extend the creative season for at least a month and prepare new performances.

Elvira Kamalova, the deputy minister of Culture of the RT, told about the events to be held during the month for residents, city guests, fans, and participants of the World Cup at a press conference in the IA “Tatar-inform”. For today, the event schedule has already been approved by the Government of the Russian Federation. However, it does not cover all activities. In addition to the Ministry, the activities will also be carried out by the Directorate of Sports and Social Projects.

In general, the cultural program will include about 90 specially organized events. “It is very important for us to cover all areas of culture because art is a subjective thing. We want to focus our attention on different genres, styles, and directions: ballet, opera, alternative Tatar music, and so on. We are very inspired because now there is a very powerful creative process”, E. Kamalova shared her impressions.

For today, 30 specially planned concert programs have already been prepared, including 7 music festivals, 2 of which will be held at the fan festival.

At this time, 33 performances will be staged in four leading theaters of Kazan: Kamalov’s, Kachalov’s, Tinturin’s, and Opera Theater. From June 11 to July 5, the International Music Festival “Chaliapin. Nuriev. Kazan” will be held at the Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet Theater named after M. Jalil. During the Football World Cup in Kazan, the theater will introduce the best performances of the repertoire to the guests of the capital, and the soloists of the Chaliapin and Nuriev festivals will take part in it.

The museums of Kazan have prepared 10 new exhibition projects, and they will also exhibit permanent ones. The Museum of Fine Arts, the National Museum of the RT and the State Museum-Reserve “Kazan Kremlin” will introduce stock expositions and present unusual novelties. For example, the Museum of the Cannon Court in the territory of the Kazan Kremlin will present the exposition “The Royal Games. West European weapons and armor of the late Renaissance period”. The Manege together with the ethnographic museum will present an exhibition “Traditional Culture of Russia and the Great Silk Road”. The Museum of Fine Arts of the RT invites to the exhibition “The Golden Fund of Fine Arts of Tatarstan”, “After the Thaw. Art of the 1970-80s”. Visitors will also be able to see the works of Haris Yakupov, Baki Urmanche, and Ildar Zaripov. In addition, the renovated museum of E. Boratynsky, the museum of M. Gorky and F. Chaliapin, the house-museum of V. Lenin are opened.

On June 25, a “Football night in the museum” will be organized. The program of events is still being prepared but it is already known that quests, flash mobs, quizzes, and sports displays are waiting for visitors to the museums this night.

The House of Friendship of Peoples of Tatarstan organizes a photo exhibition about football. There will be young people of different nationalities who take part in sporting events.

Under the auspices of UNESCO, the Museum Regatta-2018 “Towards the Football World Cup” will be held. Participants of the regatta will go to the Kazan Kremlin, Sviyazhsk and Bulgar through the Volga.

Also, 12 screenings in the open air will be held during the championship in the city in the Gorkinsko-Ometevsky forest and the park named after Gorky. In addition, it is planned to organize shows in the park “Chernoe Ozero”. Residents and guests of Kazan will see films related to football, the work of Tatarstan, Russian and world directors. In addition to the screenings, visitors are also invited to entertaining and sports games.

A concert program will be very busy and various, it includes several major festivals. So, the annual S. Rachmaninov Music Festival “White Lilac” will bring together outstanding and honored performers, such as Dmitry Masleev, who last year became the laureate of the Tchaikovsky International Competition, Ekaterina Mechetina, Denis Matsuev, and many others.

There will be 2 large festivals in the Philharmonia named after G. Tukay: “All flags come to visit us” and “Blooming Tatarstan”. The 7th International Festival of Sacred Music “Music of Faith” will take place at the Cannon Court of the Kazan Kremlin.

On June 18, a library festival will be in the park named after Lobachevsky wh ere the Kazan citizens can visit the exhibition area, the book zone, take books for free and join the exchange of books.
