The work of public transport will be expended on the day of the action “Immortal Regiment” in Kazan

(KZN.RU, April 28, Ksenia Shvetsova). On May 9, Kazan will once again join the action “Immortal Regiment”, which will be held on the same route as last year. This year, it is planned to expend the work of public transport: additional buses will be available, and the interval between the metro trains will reduce. Timur Khalikov, the chairman of the regional branch of the All-Russian public civil-patriotic movement “Immortal Regiment of Russia”, the deputy chairman of the Public Chamber of the RT, said this today at a press conference in the IA “Tatar-inform”.

All types of transport will run around the city until 2.30 pm in normal mode. The movement on the Leninskaya dam during the action will be limited. But this time the participants of the action will be able to use additional transport. So, it is planned to allocate several lanes on the Leninskaya dam so that people can walk to the Kozya Sloboda metro station. Part of the lanes will be provided for additional buses, where people can get to their homes. They will be going in the direction of the Moscovsky, Kirovsky, and Aviastroitelny districts. Other buses that will go to the city center, the Sovetsky and Privolzhsky districts, will be located near the KRK “Pyramid” on Levo-Bulachnaya Street.

Also, the metro work mode will be expended. Timur Khalikov said the experience of the past year showed that at the time when the head column comes to the Millennium Square, some people disperse and many try to use the metro. This year it is planned to minimize the interval between trains. "We ask residents to understand that when the police in the metro suspend the pass through turnstiles, it is caused by the fact that a large number of people have already gathered on the platform. The police approach this issue with a reserve and suspend the passage through the turnstiles in advance. This is a security issue, so do not try to break through the barriers”, the speaker said.

The gathering of the action participants will be on May 9 at 1 pm. The column is formed fr om the intersection of Karl Marx and Tolstoy streets near the Agrarian University. The action will begin with the marching of the troops of the Kazan garrison and special units, after which a there will be a break for the participants to gather in the column. Note that the entrance to the column is accessible not only through the intersection of Tolstoy and Karl Marx streets but also in streets Mushtari, Gogol, etc. The column will move along Karl Marx street through Svobody Square, where a concert stage will be organized, Lobachevsky Street and will go to Kremlevskaya Street. Then the column will descend to the Millennium square, wh ere there will be a big festive program. All the participants of the action will be able to take part in the concert and sing songs of the war years together with the performers.

Citizens are urged to provide convenient, warm clothes and shoes in advance, and also to be tolerant with the inspection activities. It is not advisable to bring drinks in glass bottles. The Ministry of Internal Affairs employees ask not to forget that the security measures connected with the approach of the World Cup to football began to operate in Kazan.

Last year, more than 120 thousand people took part in the march of the “Immortal Regiment” in Kazan. For today, Tatarstan ranks third in Russia in terms of the number of participants in the procession.

It unites us all with the spirit of patriotism, immense pride for those people who gave us the peaceful sky.
