On the Day of Cosmonautics, Kazanians are invited to "travel through the starry sky"

In the observatory KFU citizens will see unique astronomical instruments and watch the stars in telescopes.

(KZN.RU, April 4). On April 12, the observatory of the Kazan Federal University will host events dedicated to the 57th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's flight into space. Kazan’s townspeople are able to go on a "journey through the sky full of stars": everyone can get acquainted with the history of observatory, to study how armillary sphere and solar watches work, to see unique ancient telescopes and other astronomical instruments and watch the starry sky.

Also on the Day of Astronautics, an employee of the Astronomical Observatory named after V.P. Engelhardt, Phd., Associate Professor Almaz Galeev will give a lecture "Astronomy of the Space Era". He will tell about the successes of astronomical science due to the development of cosmonautics. After sunset, at about 20.00, with a clear sky, visitors of the observatory can watch the stars through telescopes.
