Weekend in Kazan: Red Bull Air Race, book festival of “Smena”, and the Day of Yoga

<p> (KZN.RU, June 14). Another four-day work week is coming to an end in Kazan. The upcoming weekend promises to be busy and interesting. Citizens and tourists will be able to watch the Red Bull Air Race, visit the large-scale and already beloved book festival of “Smena”, as well as take part in the International Day of Yoga in Gorky Park. </p> <p> <b>Yoga in Pobedy Park</b> </p> <p> June 15 at 1 pm </p> <p> Everyone is invited on June 15 at 1 pm to practice yoga in Pobedy Park. Visitors will be taught asanas, breathing techniques and meditation in the open class. Also, participants will be able to ask questions about yoga practice. The sportswear and a yoga mat are required. </p> <p> <b>Irish Dance Master Classes</b> </p> <p> June 15 at 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm </p> <p> Free master classes on Irish dancing will be held in Kazan. Citizens will learn the secrets of the world famous dance show Riverdance and master the basic movements. Classes will begin at 3.30 pm in the Uritsky Park and at 6.30 pm in the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest. </p> <p> <b>The International Day of Yoga</b> </p> <p> June 16 at 10:00 </p> <p> The International Day of Yoga will be held for the fifth time in Kazan Gorky Park. Fans of yoga of all ages will gather at the large lawn of the park. There will be a festive sports program by professional trainers from the studios and schools of the city. </p> <p> The holiday program includes yoga for everyone, children's yoga and yoga for older people (50+). Also, the park visitors will see performances of the Indian dance group “Urvashi” and the studio “Santosh”, take part in a master class in Indian dances, competitions, and photo shoots </p> <p> <b>Cartoon Day</b> </p> <p> June 16 at 11 am </p> <p> At the cartoon day in the amusement park “Kyrlay”, citizens will meet their favorite, beautiful and kind characters of famous cartoons. The program of the holiday included an interactive puppet show “Three Cats”, a master-class on cartoon creating, a cartoon exhibition, a cryo-show and a ball show, a game of tic-tac-toe, and many surprises. </p> <p> <b>Active weekend on the Kremlin Embankment</b> </p> <p> June 15 from 8 am and June 16 from 6 pm </p> <p> Every week, new and already beloved activities await the citizens on the Kremlin Embankment. On June 15 at 8 am, a yoga class will be held at the pier, preliminary registration is required. At 11 am, a CrossFit training will be on the workout site. In the evening, the workout platform will turn into a dance floor. At 6 pm, they will teach West Coast Swing, and at 8 pm, there will be salsa and bachata. </p> <p> On Sunday evening, the embankment will once again plunge into the atmosphere of the dance. At 6 pm, a hustle lesson will begin on the workout site. At 7 pm, Lindy Hop dancing classes will be held in the gazebo on the alley of art, and at 8 pm, tango classes will be on the pier. </p> <p> <b>A Stage of Red Bull Air Race World Cup</b> </p> <p> June 15 and 16 from 10 am </p> <p> The Red Bull Air Race World Championship will be held in Kazan for the third time. 14 teams of Master pilots and up to 12 Challenger pilots will compete in speed, accuracy, and skill in controlling light super-maneuverable aircraft. </p> <p> You could watch the breathtaking flights from the amusement park Red Bull Air Race, which will open at the site near the Family Center “Kazan”. </p> <p> Due to the air races in Kazan, the traffic will be limited on the streets S. Khakim and Bondarenko from 14 to 16 of June. On June 15 and 16, pedestrian movements will be restricted on Dekabristov Street and Amirkhan Prospect. </p> <p> <b>The Book Festival of “Smena”</b> </p> <p> June 15 and 16 from 11 am </p> <p> On June 15 and 16, the eleventh book festival of the Center for Contemporary Culture “Smena” will be held in the Kazan Park “Chernoe Ozero”. One of the largest literary festivals in the country will present book novelties, interesting lectures, and literature for purchase. </p> <p> 80 publishers will offer a summer selection. In addition to the fair, the festival of “Smena” is also a large-scale educational program: lectures, discussions, and creative meetings. They will discuss the brightest events and current processes occurring in the national and world culture, the humanities and the literary world. The program includes family activities: special educational master classes for children and their parents. </p> <p> This year, Sweden has become the guest country of the festival. Guests will closer acquaint with this country and its culture thanks to the writers who will take part in lectures and discussions. The entrance to the festival is free. </p> <p> <b>Film screenings of the programs of the World Festival Shnit Shorts 2019</b> </p> <p> June 15 and 16 at 6.10 pm </p> <p> Two new programs of the world festival Shnit Shorts 2019 will be presented to Kazan residents in the Cultural and Leisure Complex “Lenin”. Feature and animation films will be shown in the original language with Russian subtitles. </p> <p> Viewers will see 8 movies: “Antelope”, “Polarity”, “Katerina”, “Enough”, “Take a Rabbit”, “Hybrids”, “Sweet Story”, “Subhuman”. The timing will be 89 minutes. Viewers over the age of 16 can attend the event. </p>
