The participants of the auto expedition «100,000 Kilometers of Opportunities» arrive in Kazan

The city became the 75th stop on the route

Today, Andrey Leontiev, the organizer of the «100,000 Kilometers of Opportunities» auto expedition, TV journalist and expert of the State Duma Committee on Tourism, hold a meeting in Kazan. He spoke to the press about the goals of the project and the regions that the rally team had already visited.

The «100,000 Kilometers of Opportunity» motor rally, a unique international event, started in April 2024 in Moscow. During the journey, the team covered more than 92 thousand kilometers of Russian roads and visited over 70 regions. Kazan became the 75th city on the project's map. A total of 85 stops are planned along the route in various regions of the country. The next destination is Yelabuga.

In 2016, the team traveled over 40,000 kilometers across Russia. Later, American road travelers exceeded this record by traveling more than 58,000 kilometers through 35 states. The «100,000-Kilometers of Opportunities» auto expedition began with a desire to surpass this record.

«Our project is a record-breaking car journey. There is a global nomination for the longest rally in one country, along a non-repetitive route. That means we need to travel on different roads all the time, but within one country, covering as many kilometers as possible», – said Andrey Leontiev.

The crew travels 100,000 kilometers in domestic cars – Lada Vesta and Moskvich-3.

The members of the auto expedition have set several main goals for themselves, one of which is to inform the audience about the people who have contributed to the development of their small homeland.

«We meet people who are changing our world. It could be a change for a small village, a whole region, or even a country – it doesn't matter. What matters is that the person has a desire to make a difference, a desire to create», – said the organizer. Interviews with each hero of the project are posted on the website.

Another goal of the team is to conduct a comprehensive research of the country's attractions, road trips, and tourism infrastructure, as well as create a photo collection.

«We have a task to create an image of the country in 2024 and 2025. As part of this project, we will produce 25 documentary films. Additionally, we have a book that will be published both in print and digital formats. This book will include QR codes that allow readers to access videos, hear the voices of the people featured in the photographs, and read texts about them», – explained Andrey Leontiev.

Liya Davletbayeva has become the heroine of the project, which gives a second life to organic waste through the «Angels of the Earth» program. Thanks to earthworms, food waste is transformed into vermicomposting, which can be used as fertilizer.

The project is scheduled to be completed by December, with 10 regions and 7,800 kilometers to go until the final. After the auto expedition is completed, the participants will submit the evidence base for the record to the Russian Book of Records.
