The campaign is held in memory of Tatarstan citizens – victims of the Great Patriotic War.
On May 8, Tatarstan will join the Garden of Memory international campaign. Participants will plant 350 thousand tree seedlings in the republic in memory of Tatarstan citizens who did not come back from the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. This was announced today at a briefing in the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers by the Minister of Forestry of the republic Ravil Kuzyurov.
It is planned that representatives of various organizations, municipal enterprises, youth public associations, students and volunteers will take part in the planting of trees on the eve of Victory Day. “It is expected that a total of 1 million seedlings will be planted during the international campaign, including the territory of forests and residential areas”, - R.Kuzyurov added.
In addition, the republican environmental campaign “Clean Forests of Tatarstan” started in Tatarstan yesterday. This year, it will traditionally be held in two stages: the first will last until June 19, the second – from September 13 to November 13.
“The participants of the event will clean the territory of the forests from solid waste and dead wood, as well as repair the arbors, nameplates and information boards in the forest,”- the Minister of Forestry of the republic of Tatarstan said.
For reference, the republican environmental campaign “Clean Forests of Tatarstan” has been held by the Ministry of Forestry of Tatarstan since 2010 in all municipal districts of the republic. Last year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was not carried out. In 2019, more than14 thousand people joined the campaign.
