The opening and closing ceremonies of WorldSkills-2019 will be held at the stadium “Kazan-Arena”

The sale of tickets for the show starts in March.

(KZN.RU, January 21, Alina Berezhnaya). The opening and closing ceremonies of the WorldSkills World Championship will be held at the stadium “Kazan-Arena”. The decision made by Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, was announced today by Rafis Burganov, the deputy prime minister of the RT and the minister of Education and Science of the RT, at the press conference at the IA “Tatar-inform”. The press conference was devoted to the Preparation Week of the world championship of working professions. Previously, the option of holding ceremonies at the Central Stadium was considered, but the site would not accommodate all the participants and visitors to the championship, explained R. Burganov. The sale of tickets for the show will begin in March, the price will not exceed 2500 rubles.

The briefing was also attended by David Hoey, the WorldSkills International Executive Director, Karina Salikova, the deputy CEO of the Young Professionals Union for the organization of championships in WS standards of federal and international level.

Today, the Preparation Week for the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 started in Kazan. About 600 people from 62 countries will discuss topical issues of preparing and conducting the upcoming world championship. The board of directors, heads of delegations of WSI member countries, technical and official delegates, site administrators, competence managers, and team leaders will take part in the discussion.

Rafis Burganov spoke in detail about the events to be held this week. Thus, within 7 days, the participants will become familiar with the technical construction of the competitive site, the provision of services to client groups, the preparation of competitive tasks, the implementation of an affiliate program, the approval of infrastructure list, etc.

An important part of the program will be visiting the competition site of the championship International Exhibition Center “Kazan Expo”, getting acquainted with the infrastructure and services at the facility, as well as visiting hotels and WorldSkills Village. “This is the last agreements before the championship, after which the finish line will begin. Representatives of the participating countries will leave with the rules of the game, knowledge of the site of the competition and accommodation”, said Rafis Burganov.

The speaker also mentioned the project “One school, one country”, which starts on January 25. So, the delegation of the countries participating in the world championship will be assigned to 57 schools and secondary specialized educational institutions of Kazan. On August 22, the representatives of the host country will tell about Kazan, their educational institutions and cultural features of Tatarstan and get acquainted with the participants of the competition in 3 hours.

David Hoey, the WorldSkills International Executive Director, highlighted the importance of holding the Week. In his opinion, it will be decisive before the final preparation for the world championship. “During the Preparatory Week for the championship, meetings are scheduled for representatives of WorldSkills member countries and sponsors in order to establish interaction and smoothly hold the championship. We use this week to speed up the exchange of information between the parties involved”, said David Hoey.

The preparation week will end on January 27 with the opening of the countdown to WorldSkills Kazan-2019 on Bauman Street.

The 45th World Skills Championship 2019 will be held in Kazan from 22 to 27 of August. 1600 contestants from more than 60 countries of the world will attend it and compete in 56 competencies.
