<p> (KZN.RU, August 14). The next concert of the annual festival “JAZZ in the Kremlin” will be held in Kazan on August 16. The trio of Evgeny Borts and Levan Lomidze, a blues singer and guitarist, will perform on the territory of the Cannon Court of the reserve-museum “Kazan Kremlin”. </p> <p> The “JAZZ in the Kremlin” was launched on July 19 and will end on August 23. It has been held since 2007 with the support of the Kazan City Hall. Last year, the festival entered the top 5 most popular jazz festivals in the open air in Russia. </p> <p> Pianist Evgeny Borets works on the national jazz scene since the 80s. He is an author of music for films and theatrical productions, and he also worked in the cooperation with Tamara Gverdtsiteli, Nani Bregvadze, Vladimir Presnyakov Sr., Sergey Minaev, and others. The trio performs original and famous jazz compositions in their own interpretation. Musicians will perform a program called “Black” in Kazan and together with another no less famous performer Levan Lomidze, a guitarist and singer. He is known at home and abroad. In the homeland of the blues, the USA, Levan Lomidze gave over 100 concerts during 5 rounds of festivals. He was awarded the People Choice Award at the festival “Blues Sur Sein 2000” in France. According to several music magazines, he entered the top 10 of the most outstanding guitarists in Russia. </p> <p> The beginning of the concert is at 7 pm. An hour before it, Alexander Maklygin, a professor of the Kazan Conservatory, Ph.D. of Art History, will give a lecture “Improvisation as the essence of jazz” on the site, said the organizers. </p>
