Tatarstan citizens saved 50 MW of electricity during the Earth Hour event

The lighting of the Executive Committee facilities, City Hall and district administrations was switched off.

Tatarstan citizens joined the Earth Hour international environmental event and saved 50 megawatts of electricity.

For information, the event took place on March, 28 from 20.30 to 21.30, it was necessary to switch off the lighting of the houses, non-essential electrical devices, as well as take other measures aiming at reducing electricity consumption. In Kazan, the lighting of the Executive Committee facilities, City Hall and district administrations of the city was switched off.

Using high-tech devices along with changing habits allows to save up to 40% of electrical energy, the press service of the Tatarstan Ministry of ecology and natural resources reports.
