The athlete won a bronze medal in the parallel giant slalom.
Snowboarder Vic Wild, a representative of Tatarstan, won a bronze medal at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing. The athlete competed in the men’s parallel giant slalom.
“All the athletes who compete for the republic were happy. I think this is a great achievement for our country. Snowboarding is a rather young sport, Vic is only 35, this is a great success for him and we congratulate him,” – Tatarstan Sports Minister Vladimir Leonov said at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan today.
The snowboarder got the better of another Russian athlete Dmitry Loginov, as well as Lee Sang-ho (South Korea). In the semifinals, he yielded the pas to Slovenian athlete Tim Mastnak. In the final, Vic Wild won against Roland Fischnaller from Italy.
Yesterday, Danil Sadreev from Leninogorsk, representing Russian Olympic Committee, won a silver medal in the mixed team in ski jumping, reminded V. Leonov.
In total, Russian athletes won eight medals at the Olympics: two gold and three silver and bronze. The Russian Olympic Committee team is in third place on the medal tally.
