The KFU students with knowledge of Farsi will become guides-translators on the eve of the World Cup

1.5-month training courses for guides started at the Institute of International Relations, History, and Oriental Studies.

(KZN.RU, March 20). Training courses for tour guides started in Kazan. 25 students of the Institute of International Relations, History, and Oriental Studies of the KFU, who know Farsi, attend them. They will receive certificates at the end of a 1.5-month training and will be able to work as guides-translators within the framework of a city tour during the FIFA World Cup-2018.

The training course, designed for 108 hours, will include theoretical and practical classes, which will be held three times a week. Within two weeks, students will receive theoretical information, after which practice will begin. The lecturer on the courses was Nadezhda Secretova, the chairman of the Guild of Guides of Kazan.

The Football World Cup will be held from June 14 to July 15. Kazan will host the matches along with 10 other Russian cities. In particular, the teams of Iran and Spain will play in the capital of Tatarstan. In this regard, the arrival of a large number of Iranian fans is expected in Kazan, and the demand for guides who speak Farsi will increase significantly.

The Committee for the Development of Tourism has initiated the holding of training courses because there is now a problem of shortage of such guides. This idea was supported by the Institute of International Relations, History, and Oriental Studies of the KFU.

The number of tourists from Iran in Kazan in 2017 increased threefold compared to 2016.
