Sofia, a trainee of the Kazan Delta sports school, has won a silver medal at the competition. She swam 800 m in freestyle in a time of 8.32,43, according to the Tatarstan Ministry of Sports.
Ksenia Misharina took first place, setting a new Russian junior record with a time of 8.27,36. Alexandra Khailova took bronze, finishing with 8.40,92.
For reference, the competitions took place on July 23 - 28. The tournament brought together more than 580 athletes from 56 regions of the country in Yekaterinburg. 42 sets of medals will be awarded. Earlier, Sofia Dyakova won the gold medal as a member of the Tatarstan women's team. The team became the best in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay.
