One of the oldest is an architectural structure in the Leninsky Garden, and the newest one is a fountain in the park “Belye Tsvety” on Absalyamov Street.
(KZN.RU, June 25, Alina Berezhnaya). The portal KZN.RU made a selection of Kazan fountains where city residents and guests can comfortably spend time. In total, the city has 23 fountains (owned by the Committee for External Improvement – ed.), And each of them is different in design, size, concept and materials. One of the oldest fountains in Kazan is an architectural structure in the Leninsky Garden, and the newest one is the fountain in the park “Belye Tsvety” on Absalyamov Street.
A fountain in Leninsky Garden
One of the most romantic places in Kazan is Leninsky Garden, where a fountain of love is installed. Couples often walk there, and the newlyweds arrange wedding photo shoots.
The fountain of love, decorated in classic style, is one of the oldest in Kazan; it was installed in 1894. A gilded sculptural composition is located in the center of the pool: two cupids hold a bowl with a jug from which water flows.
In 2018, the architectural structure was included in the state register of the cultural heritage of regional importance. A fountain in the park on Mislavsky Street
Walking along the small Mislavsky Street, you can stumble upon a cozy, quiet place under the stairs leading to Kremlevskaya Street. The center of it has a fountain, restored in 2013. Water sprays flow from the mouth of three iron lions; the facing surface is made of granite slabs and rubble stone.
A fountain in the park “Krylya Sovetov”
The fountain was built in 2003 and found a second life in 2015. It was repaired as part of the republican program “Development of Parks and Squares” as the park “Krylya Sovetov” itself where three exits were restored, a six-sided pavement appeared on the main avenue, and a floor of concrete slabs was recreated on the square in front of the CLC Lenin. Also, a sports ground with exercise equipment, a track for cyclists and skateboarders and a modern playground were established in the park.
The highlight of the park is a fountain on the main avenue. The volume of its bowl is 55 cubic meters, and its height is 4 meters. The fountain is especially beautiful at night when 217 water sprays change not only the height, but also the color, shimmering with red, yellow, green, blue colors.
A fountain in the square “Istanbul”
As a sign of friendly relations between the peoples of Tatarstan and Turkey, the Istanbul Square appeared in the Novo-Savinovsky district of Kazan in 2013 with a fountain in the center. The facing surface is made of granite slabs and porcelain stoneware. The fountain consists of 41 sprinklers and 20 lamps that paint water in different colors at night.
A waterfall in the Chishmyale Park on Fuchik Street
Square “Chishmyale” is a favorite vacation spot for residents of the Sovetsky district. In the middle of the green zone, there is a lake surrounded by two terraces. The decoration of the square is a small waterfall that flows directly into the lake. “Chishme” is Tatar for “stream”, hence the name of the street and the square.
Fountains on Bauman Street
The pedestrian Bauman Street is adorned with several fountains at once: Frogs, Su Anasy, and Doves.
In the center of the sculptural composition with frogs is an exquisitely stylized bud. The authorship of this architectural structure belongs to Igor Bashmakov, a famous master of artistic casting, an Honored Artist of the RT, laureate of the Baki Urmanche Prize. The bronze composition became the author’s priceless gift for the 1000th anniversary of his native Kazan. The area of the sculpture is 6.4 square meters. The facing surface of the fountain is made of granite slabs.
The fountain “Su Anasy – Water-spirit” was opened in 1998. In Tatar folklore, Su Anasa personifies the mermaid, a mythological creature in the form of a beautiful young girl. A classic of Tatar literature Gabdulla Tukay poetically interpreted the legend of the beautiful mermaid in his work. The sculptural composition is a girl figure made of wrought copper, which sits on a red granite stone. The area of the sculpture is 23 square meters.
Sculptor Asiya Minullina created the composition “Doves”. Seven figures of bronze doves on a large round bowl look very natural.
A fountain in the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest
The unusual pedestrian light and music fountain in the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest was built in 2016 within the framework of the republican program “Development of Parks and Squares”. The fountain consists of 110 sprinklers and is lined with granite tiles and ceramic granite.
The uniqueness of the fountain is that it creates an imitation of fog, water sprays seem to splash in a smoke cloud. The composition is complemented by balls of different diameters located on the top, which change color simultaneously with the fountain.
Fountains on the Bulak
The cascade of 22 fountains was opened on Bulak Channel in 2005 to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of Kazan. The update and transformation of the Bulak Channel took place in 2013 for the Universiade. The length of the fountain complex is 1.4 km. Water sprays reach not less than 10 meters in height. The chain of fountains is highlighted in the evening.
A fountain on the Nizhny Kaban Lake
In 2007, a fountain appeared at one of the most mysterious places in Kazan – Nizhny Kaban Lake. It is a pillar of water rising from the lake. Today it is the highest fountain in Kazan: water sprays reach a height of 50 meters.
The fountain became even more spectacular in 2013 after reconstruction. Now, it shimmers with all the colors of the rainbow at night. You can admire the beauty of the water object both from the embankment and from the water by renting a boat or paddleboat.
The square in front of the Kamal Theater is decorated with light-music fountains that form water arches and balloons.
A fountain in Stolyarov Square
Not far from the monument to Nikolay Stolyarov, the Hero of the USSR, there is a fountain in the form of a sculpture of a woman with children in the square of the same name. Sprinklers are placed on the sides of the bowl, from which sprays of water are poured directly onto the sculpture.
A fountain in Lyadskoy Garden
The fountain in the form of a sculpture of a girl with a jug is located in the central part of the park. Water flows from bronze figures of five girls with flowers in their hands on the sides of the sculpture. The fountain is unique in that it is recreated in its original proportions, as it was at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries. Thus, the height of the fountain is 4.75 meters.
The statue of a girl with a jug was installed in honor of the opening of the first water supply system in the city.
A fountain in the Tinchurin Park
The star-shaped fountain in the Tinchurin Park was reconstructed in August 2015. The 190-square-meter bowl of the fountain is attractive in its shape. The convex plate of the fountain is combined with the bulk board, due to which the bowl looks large. There is a 3-level “water bouquet” in the center of the pool, which is complemented by water cascades in the form of fans. The fountain is decorated with underwater lights that change color.
On Sundays, a unique atmosphere prevails there. In the morning, citizens sell various discs, books, old coins, badges and other things at a flea market in the park.

An unusual fountain in the center of the square in front of the Said-Galiev House of Culture is a decoration of the renovated park in Derbyshki.
The fountain is a bowl of 300 square meters, 6 ceramic granite plates with 30 sprinklers are installed on it. The pool of the fountain is decorated with flower beds. You can admire the beauty of the fountain sitting on the benches installed along the perimeter of the park.

The fountain in the Kirov Square is decorated with the sculptural composition “The Labor will Rule the World”, three workers hold the globe. The idea of the concept is the glorification of labor.
The fountain was reconstructed in 2015, as part of the improvement of the Kirov Square. New paths and lawn were laid in the square, benches and lighting poles were replaced, new fences were installed, flowers, bushes and trees were planted.

In 2015, reconstruction works were carried out on Sovetskaya Square. Pavements, lanterns were replaced, and comfortable benches were installed. Trees and flowers were planted in the Square. A fountain on the Belye Tsvety Boulevard
The youngest fountain of Kazan is located on the Belye Tsvety Boulevard. It appeared in 2018. The uniqueness of the fountain is that it does not have a bowl, water seems to flow from the ground. You can admire the water object sitting in the gazebo or on large white cubes, which are highlighted in the dark.
The fountain is popular both during the day and in the evening. Here you can often see walking residents of neighboring houses, mothers with strollers, and playing children.
A fountain near the Opera Theater named after Musa Jalil
The fountain, located in a small park in front of the Opera Theater named after M. Jalil, is one of the oldest fountains in Kazan, built in the XIX century.
The fountain is a large bowl, from which water flows and overflows into the pool. The bowl is decorated with masks-sprinklers.
A fountain in the Gorky Park
The pedestrian interactive light and music fountain was built in 2014 during a large-scale reconstruction of the park. The fountain is made in the form of a chessboard. In the summertime, children like to play here. The 105 spray streams are highlighted in different colors, creating breathtaking water paintings.

A fountain in the Millennium Park
The fountain in the Millennium Park was installed in 2005 in honor of the 1000th anniversary of Kazan. It is a large cauldron decorated with dragons, streams of water flow from its mouth. The cauldron is protected by eight small Zilants on the sides of the bowl. The diameter of the sculpture composition is 36 meters. The concept of the fountain laid the legend of a boiling cauldron associated with the name of the city. Traditionally, the newlyweds come to the fountain and throw coins in it for good luck.
A fountain on Peterburgskaya Street
The fountain on the pedestrian street Peterburgskaya was installed in 2005. The diameter of the bowl is 8 meters. It creates the illusion that the sprays beat the water right out of the ground. The water body has become an addition to Peterburgskaya Street, which recreates the atmosphere of the northern capital of the country. There are stylized bridges and a gazebo with a dome near the fountain.
