Sergei Shargunov will be the guest of the art-residence "Old-Tatar Sloboda"

The laureate of the national award "The Big Book" will meet readers and will present his new books in Kazan.

(KZN.RU, March 29). Well-known Russian writer Sergei Shargunov will visit Kazan on March 3. He will be another guest of the art-residence "Old-Tatar Sloboda", created by the initiative of the Kazan’s Mayor, Ilsur Metshin.

Recall, Sergei Shargunov is one of the most popular today's authors. His books have been translated into Italian, English, French, Serbian, they have won many Russian and international awards. Sergei Shargunov is a laureate of the national award "The Big Book", Italian awards “Arcobaleno” and "Moscow-Penne", Gorky’s literary prize; twice finalist of the “National bestseller” award.

The initiator and curator of the “Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda" project, writer Ildar Abuzyarov, has told KZN.RU portal about Sergey Shargunov’s plans in Kazan - acquaintanceship with the city and providing creative meetings with readers.

The first meeting will take place on March 31 at 13.00 in the Aksenov’s house-museum (K.Marksa Str. 55/31). The conversation will touch upon literature and politics, the past and future of Russia. Sergei Shargunov will present his recently published works, among which the prose collection "Svoi" and the book from the “Life of outstanding people” cycle, «Kataev. Chasing after an eternal spring».

Recall, art-residence "Staro-Tatar Sloboda" was opened in December 2017. This platform provides an opportunity for writers, poets and actors to live in Kazan and create artworks related to the history, culture and the modern environment of the city. Writers, Natalia Yakushina, Alexei Arzamazov, Deputy Chief Magazine "Youth" Igor Mikhailov - who plans to issue a separate magazine with the works of Tatarstan's authors, have already become guests of the residence.
