A ban on the civilian and service weapons is introduced in Kazan from May 25 to July 25

This is due to the holding of the FIFA World Cup-2018.

(KZN.RU, April 27, Ksenia Shvetsova). Fr om May 25 to July 25, enhanced security measures are being introduced in Kazan and other entities of the country wh ere the FIFA World Cup-2018 is being held. At this time, the turnover of civilian and service weapons is categorically prohibited, as well as cartridges to it. The ban applies to all residents and visitors of the city and applies to any type of civilian weapon.

Marat Shakirov, the head of the license-permitting work center of the Rosgvardia Office for the RT, said at a press conference in the IA “Tatar-inform” that the ban is primarily connected with the fact that a record number of guests and fans is expected for the matches of the championship. “In these difficult conditions, we must do everything possible to ensure that every resident who came to us would feel safe. And there is no security without restrictive measures. The decree is in no way aimed at infringement of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of our country, but pursues only one goal. So the championship should be remembered to us as a holiday”, said the speaker.

Restrictive measures have some exceptions. Thus, exposure, recording, storage, and withdrawal of weapons and ammunition, as well as the transfer, transportation, import, and export of sporting firearms to the country for the purpose of preparing and holding all-Russian international sports competitions in shooting sports are allowed. But it is required to contact the Rosgvardia Office and get permission for this.

At the moment, there are 49532 owners of weapons in the republic, who have 70706 different types of guns in their hands. All types of these weapons should be strictly in places of storage from May 25. Removal of weapons from the house will automatically entail its withdrawal until the end of the action of restrictive measures, that is, July 26. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Rosgvardia have the right to acquire weapons.

“The careless owner of the weapon will spend more than one hour in the company of the law enforcement officer, for which he can be late for an airplane, train, business meeting. You should think a thousand times before taking weapons from the safe”, marked M. Shakirov.

The ban on weapons also extends to hunters. The restriction applies to all hunters of the Russian Federation. During this period, it will not be possible to purchase weapons and cartridges in specialized stores, since the sale of this product will be temporarily suspended. The ban does not include only pneumatic weapons with a capacity of up to 3 Joules, which is not considered a civilian weapon by law.

In addition, the ban automatically entails the termination of the educational process associated with its use. Therefore, training on the profession of “private guard” from May 25 will be conducted only in the fourth category, not related to the use of weapons.

The owners of weapons are urged to carefully study the permitting documents. In the case that the term for the end of the permit for possession of weapons falls under the forbidden time (June, July of this year), they should apply for the extension of documents in advance. Acceptance of requests for renewals from such owners will be out of the queue.
