Parents will be able to taste meals at school picnics in September and October.
(KZN.RU, August 5). Starting September 1, Kazan schools will offer children a new menu. Rima Mukhamedshin, the general director of the Department of Food and Social Catering of Kazan, announced this today at the Business Monday.
According to the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor, the assortment and quantity of semi-finished products will decrease in the canteens. They will be given no more than 1-2 times a week.
The speaker reminded that in the last academic year, the technology for the production of semi-finished products was revised. Then they were brought to school tastings in all districts of the city, where children and parents could choose the most preferred dishes. “According to their wishes, we included in the menu only those dishes that were selected by schoolchildren”, noted R. Mukhamedshina.
In addition, due to the appeals of children and parents, hot food was introduced with a lower cost in the updated menu (45 rubles). You can choose the second dish or the first dish with pastries for this amount.
Parents can assess the updated menu and taste the dishes that their children will eat during the school year in a series of school picnics. As part of these events in September and October, parents will also be able to consult a dietitian.
R. Mukhamedshina said that using the stay of international experts in cookery and confectionery in Kazan at the WorldSkills, the Department plans to organize a roundtable on the organization of school meals. Experts will also be offered tasting dishes from the new menu.
According to Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, special attention should be paid to educational activities and the promotion of healthy nutrition. “Schools have long switched to chips and sandwiches even in rich countries, where much can be afforded in urban infrastructure. We believe that we need a healthy generation and that is why we will develop school nutrition and change lifestyle. These are not empty words, and it is always difficult to implement”, said the Mayor.
