Last week Kazan hosted of the major football events of the country. The head of the Executive Committee Rustem Gafarov thanked the organizers for the decent work at two matches: the women's national teams of Russia and Iran met at the Central Stadium, while Zenit vs CSKA competed for the OLIMPBET Super Cup of Russia at the Ak Bars Arena. “The capital is always happy to host various major events despite any difficulties,”- he said.

Rustem Gafarov reminded that the Russian women's national football team played in Kazan for the first time. “Our girls were supported by a large army of Kazan fans, especially since there were two natives of Tatarstan in the team: Alsu Abdullina and Zarina Sharifova from Kazan. Our national team won with a score of 4:0,”- the head of the Executive Committee noted.

The stands were full on Saturday at the Ak Bars Arena stadium, where Zenit and CSKA clubs played for the Russian Super Cup. The team from St. Petersburg won after the penalty shootout. “A large number of fans came to Kazan, some of whom, unfortunately, did not behave appropriately,”- Rustem Gafarov reported.

In addition to the football matches, Match TV! Urban Games took place at the Uram extreme park. More than 1,200 athletes from 50 regions of Russia participated the games.
