Rustem Gafarov: “We plan designing a school for 1224 children in the village of Privolny”

The head of the Executive Committee of Kazan met with residents of the villages of Vishnevka, Novaya Vishnevka and Privolny at the construction site of the school.

It is planned to start designing a school for 1224 children in the Kazan village of Privolny shortly. The new school will solve the problem for residents of four villages -Vishnevka, Novaya Vishnevka, Privolny and Salmachi. In addition, the capacity of school №173 in the village of Salmachi will be increased by the construction of an extension. After the bridge over the Noksa River is put into operation, a school bus route will be launched. Rustem Gafarov, head of the Executive Committee of Kazan, announced this to the residents at a meeting that took place at the construction site of the school in the village of Privolny.

“Obviously, the school will not appear by magic - it will take time”

The plans for the construction of a school in the village of Privolny were reported to residents earlier at a meeting with the leadership of the Sovetsky district administration. The site for the school has already been determined – it will be built in the village of Privolny on Fialkovaya Street.

“The most important thing is that the location of the school was determined. Now we will appeal to Tatarstan President to allocate funding for its design, - R.Gafarov told local residents who attended the meeting. – But you need to understand that the school will not appear by magic - it will take time. It is important to provide sewerage and water networks”.

Over the past 15 years, Kazan records an increase in the birth rate. In 2005, 11 thousand birth certificates were registered in the city, and in 2020, almost twice as many – 19.7 thousand birth certificates.

“The baby boom causes a shortage of educational institutions. We are building schools very actively. Since 2009, 23 schools have been built in Kazan, which is more than in any other million-person city, except Moscow and St. Petersburg, - R.Gafarov said. – In Kazan today, there are other residential areas where the need for schools is even higher. In total, we need to build 30 schools in the near future”.

After the bridge over the Noksa River is put into operation, a school bus route will be launched

The village of Privolny was incorporated in the city boundaries in 1995, Vishnevka and Salmachi in 2001. Before being included in the boundaries of Kazan, these settlements had random housing construction, without the approval of urban planning documentation. As a result, the road network of settlements was formed without taking into account the required standard width of roads and, accordingly, without the possibility of organizing an appropriate safe road traffic.

The school bus route can solve the issue of traffic congestion and transportation of children to educational institutions, said R.Gafarov. It will be possible to launch it after the commissioning of the bridge over the Noksa River, which is currently operating in test mode. The bridge will be fully opened for traffic approximately in May-June, said the first deputy head of the administration of the Sovetsky district Andrey Yakovlev.

To launch school buses and extend the city bus route to the village of Privolny, the road will be expanded and a bus stop area will be equipped, R.Gafarov said.

“After the commissioning of the bridge over the Noksa River and the construction of a bus stop area, a commission survey of the street and road network will be organized with the participation of traffic police representatives. No doubt, the safety of children will be ensured”, - the head of the Executive Committee said.
