A relative of Igor Netto to residents of Kazan: “Thank you for the memory of our great players!”

A public art with the image of an athlete, prepared for the World Cup-2018, was appreciated by his relatives.

(KZN.RU, July 16). A public art with the image of Igor Netto, painted in Kazan for the World Cup, attracted the attention of the famous football player’s relatives. “The work is just amazing! It’s really him!”, Mikhail Zakharov, the son-in-law of the athlete, appreciated the drawing. He thanked the Kazan artists for the great work and noted that for today, Kazan is the only city that remembered one of the most important players in the history of the country during the World Cup.

A public-art with the image of Igor Netto appeared on the building on the street Sibgat Khakim, №58. Dmitry Kudinov, an artist from the creative team “Supernova”, explained that such graffiti adorned all cities that hosted the World Cup, but for the most part they were drawn by the same famous football players. In Kazan, they decided to draw an unusual public art. “Igor Netto is legendary in both football and hockey”, said Dmitry Kudinov. He added that the graffiti building is located not far from the two most important Kazan sports objects: the football and hockey stadiums “Kazan Arena” and “Tatneft-Arena”.

Mikhail Zakharov has not yet visited Kazan and learned about the new art object by accident. Being a fan of “Spartak”, he read about this on the support website of the football team. “My wife and I were very pleased to learn that there was a public art with the image of Igor Netto in Kazan”, he told a KZN.RU correspondent. “Nobody nowhere has thought of remembering the great players of the past. But you did it in Kazan! Hats off to you!”.

Talking about the famous football player, M. Zakharov notes that he was a very modest and sympathetic person. Since childhood, he has been fond of football. “In Moscow, Netto's family lived in the Daev Alley. Children were playing football on the waste ground between houses from dusk till dawn. Igor was constantly getting away from his mother for broken shoes, but his father, coming from work, always fixed them”.

At the championship of Moscow, Igor went as forward in both football and Russian hockey. The combination of these two sports was absolutely common for that time, notes M. Zakharov. “When Igor turned 19, he already firmly occupied a place at the heart of the Moscow “Spartak” and took part in the final match for the USSR Cup against the Moscow “Dynamo”. The game took place on November 6, 1950. “Spartak” won with a score of 3:0”, recalls a relative of the athlete and adds. “We cannot build something new, forgetting about the people who brought glory to our country”.

Perhaps in the future, the Zakharovs' family will be able to see public art with Igor Netto live. For now, it was not possible for them to go to the capital of Tatarstan because of the busy schedule. According to artists, the life term of such public art is 5 years. So there is enough time to see graffiti with your own eyes.

However, the public art was highly appreciated even by the photos. “Once again I thank you for the memory, for remembering our great players”, said M. Zakharov.

On the eve of the World Cup-2018, a few public arts appeared in Kazan. In addition to the portrait of Igor Netto, the world team has been painted on the walls framing the Bulak. Also, artists introduced the life of Kazan residents on the building in Galiaskar Kamal, №2. In addition, a number of public art appeared depicting famous modern players, some of whom played at the “Kazan Arena” during the championship: Ronaldo, Messi, Neimar, as well as Luke Modric, the captain of the Croatian national team, and Didier Deschamps, the coach of the French team.
