Repair work in the five-story building, where the fire occurred on August 2, is scheduled to be completed by mid-September. Ferdinant Timurkhanov, the head of the Civil Protection Directorate of the Kazan Executive Committee, told this at the Business Monday.

Report on the fire on the balcony of one of the apartments in the house in Vakhitovsky district was received by the operational dispatch service at 12.58 pm, reports the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Tatarstan. The fire was localized at 1.59 pm, and liquidated at 2.36 pm. 75 people were evacuated from the house including 9 children; there were no injuries.

For today, the draft estimate documentation of the OOO “Gorzhilremontproekt”, the project cost is 5.7 million rubles. The contractor is the OOO “Suralstroy”. The partial dismantling of the roof was carried out, the rafters are being erected. The necessary materials have been purchased, the repair crews are fully staffed. The approximate date for completing the works is September 15, 2018.

The fire in the five-story building on Khalev Street became one of two major socially significant fires that occurred in Kazan from January to August this year. “Despite the ongoing work to promote compliance with fire safety requirements, residents keep neglecting the requirements, and all this leads to negative consequences”, said Ferdinand Timurkhanov. Another fire occurred on June 5 in the shopping center “Port”. A criminal case was filed under the article “Destruction or damage to property through negligence”.

In general, there were 360 fires as of August 1, which is 2.7% less than last year. 339 out of fires occurred in apartments and individual houses in the private sector, 21 – in production and social facilities. There were no emergencies.
