Rais of Tatarstan on BRICS summit in Kazan: “It is not only a great honor for us, but also a serious responsibility”

In 2024, Kazan will host Summit of the Heads of State of BRICS and BRICS+. It is a great honor and responsibility for the republic, Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said in his address to the State Council of the republic of Tatarstan. The head of the region instructed to coordinate the work on preparation for the event.

Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that the decree on holding the Summit of the Heads of State of BRICS and BRICS+ in Kazan in 2024 was adopted by Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is planned that the event will bring together more than 20 leaders of the countries.

“This is not only a great honor for us, but also a serious responsibility,”- said Rais of Tatarstan. – A large number of events will be held during the summit, including the multi-sport BRICS Games.

“We have a lot of work ahead of us, including security, preparation of hospitality facilities. The Republican Organizing Committee, together with federal colleagues, will ensure its coordination,”- Rais of Tatarstan instructed.
