R. Minnikhanov met with Sylvie Bermann, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Russia

(KZN.RU, February 19). Today Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, met with Sylvie Bermann, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Russia. The meeting took place in the Governor's Palace of the Kazan Kremlin. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Roman Shaikhutdinov, the deputy prime minister of the RT and the minister of Information and Communication of the RT, Vladimir Leonov, the minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of the RT, Airat Sibagatullin, the minister of Culture of the RT, and others also took part in the meeting.

Welcoming the guest, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan had good working contacts with the French Embassy in Russia. “We attach great importance to the development of cooperation between Tatarstan and France within the framework of Russian-French relations”, said Rustam Minnikhanov.

He also reminded that he visited Paris on a working visit in December 2016. Then the business forum with the participation of the enterprises of Tatarstan and France was held, a concert of the Tatarstan masters of the arts was organized, the meetings were held with Gerard Larcher, the President of the Senate of France, Irina Bokova, the Director-General of UNESCO, Matthias Fekl, the State Secretary for Foreign Trade and Tourism Development, Christian Estrosi, the President of the Regional Council of the Provence-Alpes region of Cote d'Azur, and others.

In addition, Mrs. Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, visited Kazan in 2017, and the celebration of the Tatar people holiday Sabantuy took place in the heart of the French capital, on the Champ de Mars. Also, a representative delegation of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region visited Tatarstan in December 2017.

“Our republic has accumulated good experience of working with French business”, Rustam Minnikhanov further said. “We cooperate with a number of French regions: Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, Rhone-Alpes Auvergne, and others. Plenipotentiary representation of the RT has been operating in Paris for almost 25 years. The cultural-educational non-profit public organization “Alliance-France” actively works in Kazan.

During the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov briefly described the republic's economy, the most promising projects that are being implemented in the region, reports the press service of the President of the RT.

We are ready for cooperation on a mutually beneficial basis and development of our relations with French business, said the President of the RT referring to Sylvie Bermann. He said that the trade turnover between Tatarstan and France has grown significantly by the results of 9 months of 2017, the dynamics are significant and there is an opportunity to bring it to the pre-crisis level.

Sylvie Bermann is in Kazan with a study tour (February 17-19, 2018). The presentation of the economic and investment potential of Tatarstan was organized for Sylvie Bermann. She also was acquainted with the sights of Kazan Kremlin, the mosque Kul-Sharif, and the Annunciation Cathedral, visited the traveling exhibition “Collages of Jacques Prever” in the Center “Hermitage-Kazan”. Sylvie Bermann is an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Russia since September 7, 2017.
