President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov saw the progress of reconstruction and restoration of a number of significant sites in the historical center of Kazan. The Chief of Staff of the President of Tatarstan Asgat Safarov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and others also visited the sites.
For information, the sites are under the special control of Tatarstan President. Today, he inspected the execution of the instructions given earlier.
The first site was the Lokomotiv municipal beach. Rustam Minnikhanov instructed to work out options for improving this territory to ensure the safety of citizens. He also instructed to clean up the road to the beach.
The next site was the Azimov mosque at Fatkullin street, 15.The Mosque was presented to the head of the Republic after restoration, which was carried out for five years. R. Minnikhanov welcomed the work and thanked the restorers.
Then Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Kazan Theater for young spectators at Ostrovsky street. It is located in the former building of the Eastern club (Merchant Assembly), which is a cultural heritages site of regional significance of the end of the XIX century. Due to the expansion of the venue, it was decided to create a Theater and cultural complex based on the theater. Minnikhanov emphasized that each site should be in demand by viewers and visitors, as well as profitable.
The next venue was Chelyshev's House at Kremlevskaya street, 25/22. The two-storey building, built in the middle of the XIX century, is recognized as a cultural heritage site of republican significance. In 2019, the building underwent a renovation. Now the building houses the preparatory faculty for foreign students of KFU.
Further, on Peterburgskaya street Rustam Minnikhanov was presented with options for the Koltso Mall, which was built in 2006. R. Minnikhanov instructed to work out the project for each block of the complex in more detail and make a presentation of the final version.
The last site was the GIDUV building at the intersection of Butlerov and Mushtari streets. The historic building was built in 1914 for the Kazan branch of the Noble land Bank. Today, restoration work is well underway here.
