R. Minnikhanov inspected the renovated Pushkin Cultural Center in Kazan

The center was initiated by the Russian National Cultural Association of the RT at a meeting with the President of the RT in 2016.

(KZN.RU, June 5). Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, visited the updated Pushkin Cultural Center in Kazan today. He was accompanied by Asgat Safarov, the head of the Presidential Administration of the RT, Irada Ayupova, the minister of Culture of the RT, Rafis Burganov, the deputy prime minister of the RT and the minister of Education and Science of the RT, Evgeniya Lodvigova, the first deputy head of the Kazan Municipality, and others.

The creation of the center was initiated by the Russian National Cultural Association of the RT at a meeting with the President of the RT in 2016. The main task of the center is to preserve and strengthen the unity of the multinational people of Tatarstan, the distinctiveness of the Russian people, the development of the Russian language, the culture of speech, the traditions of the Russian national culture, etc.

Rustam Minnikhanov assessed the results of the overhaul of the Pushkin Cultural Center. Builders completed the repair of the roof, entrances, facade, and engineering networks. The interior finishing works in the building have been completed, the surrounding area has been landscaped.

During the inspection, the President of the RT visited a buffet with Russian traditional dishes, a museum and exhibition hall, an office for the Russian national culture department, a concert hall for 320 seats.

The results of the campaign “Total dictation” in Tatarstan were summed up in the youth studio with the participation of Rustam Minnikhanov. The organizers reported that over 6 thousand people from all municipalities of the republic wrote the text this year. The Kazan National Research Technological University won in the nomination “The most active educational institution of the RT”. And the first place in the nomination “The most active youth movement of the RT” was taken by the organization “Russian Student Teams”. Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated the winners of the “Total dictation” and wished that next year even more residents would join the action.

Then the President met with the creative intelligentsia and activists of the Russian National Cultural Association of the RT. “I am sincerely pleased with our meeting, which takes place in this beautiful center named after A. Pushkin. There are very active people who are concerned about the issues of preserving the Russian national culture and traditions”, said Rustam Minnikhanov.

Vasily Nosov, the chairman of the board of the Russian National Cultural Association of the RT, noted that the meeting with the leadership of the republic is being held for the fifth time. According to him, a lot of work is being done in the republic to support Russian creative teams. In particular, he thanked the President of the RT for the allocation of funds for the purchase of concert costumes.

“In recent years, we have performed a whole range of cases. We unveiled a monument to saints Petr and Fevronia, installed memorial plaques to our benefactor Yakov Shamov and scientist Dmitry Likhachev. The cultural center is the completion of our large-scale program. I think this big joint work will benefit both Kazan and the whole republic”, he added.

Afterward, the meeting participants discussed issues related to the activities of the Russian National Cultural Association in cities and regions of the republic, reports the press service of the President of the RT.

On June 6, a number of celebrations are planned in the republic, dedicated to the Day of the Russian language and the 220th birth anniversary of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin.
