The President of the RT inspected objects in the historical center of Kazan

Together with R. Minnikhanov, I. Metshin, O. Baltusova, I. Faizullin, and others made the tour.

(KZN.RU, April 17). This morning, Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, made a walk in the historic center of Kazan and along the embankment of the Kazanka River (Kremlin Embankment).

Rustam Minnikhanov was accompanied by Asgat Safarov, the head of the Staff of the President of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Oles Baltusova, an assistant to the President of the RT, Ildus Nafikov, the prosecutor of the RT, Irek Fayzullin, the minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the RT, and others.

At the site near the Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet Theater named after Musa Jalil, Rustam Minnikhanov was presented a scheme for redistributing automobile and pedestrian flows in the historic center of the city. It is assumed that due to the change in the traffic pattern of the cars, pedestrian connections will be organized between Svobody Square, Sultan-Galiev Square, and Fuchs Square. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, gave explanations during the meeting.

Then Rustam Minnikhanov was shown a building at Karl Marks Street, №56/11. The house of Drotoevsky-Molotkov is an object of the cultural heritage of federal significance and is under reconstruction. It is an architectural monument of classicism, built in 1837 by the project of architect Petondi. Now the question of what functions the building will perform is being decided, several options for using the building are prepared. In particular, there was a proposal to place a museum of art song, a bard movement and a center for children's creativity in the building.

Rustam Minnikhanov instructed to work out the issue of the restoration of a complex of buildings, including obtaining the necessary approvals and passing construction expertise.

The next objects were located at Karl Marks Street №62 and №64. Rosalia Nurgaleeva, the director of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the RT, asked to transfer the two-story buildings to the museum for further placement of museum expositions in them. Rustam Minnikhanov instructed the Kazan Municipality to work on this issue.

The building at Karl Marks Street, №70/10 holds a branch of the Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute in Kazan. At the moment, the building is undergoing repair and restoration work.

Then Rustam Minnikhanov was presented a project of using the territory under the Millennium Bridge from Podluzhnaya Street. It is planned to create a youth park with areas for practicing extreme sports. The project also provides for the connecting Podluzhnaya Street with the Gorky Park. Daria Tolovenkova, the deputy head architect of Kazan, gave explanations at the inspection.

During the inspection of the Kremlin Embankment from the side of Podluzhna Street, Rustam Minnikhanov proposed to organize a football field in the empty territories right after the Millennium Bridge.

Then, a presentation of another area was held on the embankment of Kazanka, near the staircase descent to the water (opposite the Central Stadium near GIMS). It is planned to create a public space there, the festival quarter. At this time, this part of the river embankment is almost not used by citizens as a walking area. The creation of the appropriate infrastructure here will revive the embankment, will allow integrating it into the urban context.

Rustam Minnikhanov instructed to finalize the project and submit it for discussion within 15 days, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
