The President of the RT: “Bright moments of courage and will of our fellow countrymen will always remain in the history of the country”

The solemn event in honor of Victory Day was held in the Tatar Theater of Opera and Ballet named after M. Jalil.

(KZN.RU, May 6). The solemn event dedicated to the 74th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held today at the Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after M. Jalil.

Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, Mintimer Shaimiev, the State Councilor of the RT, Alexey Pesoshin, the Prime Minister of the RT, Asgat Safarov, the head of the Office of the President of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, took part in it. The honored guests of the event were veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

Addressing the veterans with a welcoming speech, R. Minnikhanov reminded that Tatarstan residents participated in all the decisive battles of the Great Patriotic War, every second did not return from the battlefield. “The bright memory of those who defended the freedom and independence of the motherland at the cost of their own lives will remain forever in our hearts”, said the President of the RT.

The memory of those killed during the war years was honored with a minute of silence.

“Bright moments of courage and inflexible will power of our countrymen will always remain in the history of the country. We will never forget the contribution of those who worked selflessly in the rear in extremely difficult conditions, without sleep and rest, not sparing their own strength. During the war years, our republic became one of the most important rear bases of the country and made a significant contribution to the victory over fascism”, said R. Minnikhanov.

Separately, the President of the RT congratulated the veterans. “Your life is an example of heroism, courage, dedication and devotion to the Motherland! We deeply appreciate the freedom and independence, the prosperity of the present and future generations. I sincerely wish you prosperity and health, long life, warm and love of your families and friends”, he said.

The President gave certificates to state awards to of the Great Patriotic War to the relatives of the veterans of the Great Patriotic War who passed away. The Order of Alexander Nevsky was awarded to Pavel Ezekov (died in 1945), the Order of the Patriotic War of the II degree to Mukhlis Khairov (died in 1942), and the medal “For Courage” to Fedor Morozov died in 1943.

More than 190 veterans of the Great Patriotic War were invited to participate in the celebrations in the Opera and Ballet Theater of M. Jalil.

The event ended with a concert program of creative teams of the RT, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
