(KZN.RU, August 8). Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, assessed the readiness of the facilities to host the 45th WorldSkills Championship today.
In the afternoon, Rustam Minnikhanov made a detour of a number of objects involved in the world championship of working professions.
Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Universiade Village in Kazan (in the days of the championship this territory will be called the WorldSkills Village). He got acquainted with the living conditions of the participants of the championship.
Explanations during the inspection were given by I. Rakhimov, the mayor of the Universiade Village. In particular, Rustam Minnikhanov and his entourage were shown one of the buildings in the WorldSkills Village (№20), where team members will live during the championship period. Decoration repairs were made, furniture was replaced, and the rooms and public spaces were improved.
In addition, today Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Championship Accreditation Center. The center has already begun its work, and Rustam Minnikhanov was the first official to be given his accreditation badge.
One of the badge points is located in WorldSkills Village for the convenience of competitors, trainers, and experts. Employees of the Office of the Federal Migration Service for the RT will work there for foreign participants of the championship and promptly resolve possible issues, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
Rustam Minnikhanov also assessed the equipment of the championship participants, a special uniform for volunteers, experts, judges, etc.
Afterward, the President of the RT went to the international exhibition center “Kazan Expo”. This site is the main object of the professional skill competition. There he will assess the readiness of the competition sites for hosting the championship, and will also hold a meeting on the preparation and holding of the 45 WorldSkills Championships.
Rustam Minnikhanov was accompanied by Asgat Safarov, the head of the Presidential Administration of the RT, Shamil Gafarov, the deputy prime minister of the RT and the head of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Vladimir Leonov, the minister of Sport of the RT, Robert Urazov, the general director of the Union of Young Professionals (Worldskills Russia), Robert Minnegaliev, an assistant to the President of the RT and the general director of the OOO “Kazan Expo”, and other officials.
WorldSkills Kazan 2019 will be held in the capital of Tatarstan from 22 to 27 of August. About 1500 contestants from 69 countries of the world will participate in it and compete in 56 competencies. The championship will be the largest international event in Russia in 2019.
