(KZN.RU, August 27). Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, and Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, visited Kazan children's camps “Molodaya Gvardiya” and “Plamya” today. They examined the infrastructure of the camps and got acquainted with the conditions of children's recreation.
The sports camp “Molodaya Gvardiya” in the Kirovsky district of Kazan was founded in the 30s of the last century. This summer, it had 4 profile shifts. In total, about 1 thousand children stayed there during the season. The camp has 7 residential buildings, a canteen, a medical center, two basketball courts and one football field. The President noted that single-storey wooden structures look better than bulky brick buildings. He added that the main thing is to create favorable conditions for children to rest and fulfill the necessary sanitary requirements.
Also, R. Minnikhanov and I. Metshin visited the children's camp “Plamya” that hosts 1370 children and teenagers annually. In 2009, it was repaired, and this year, a new basketball court with a special coating appeared there.
Since 2014, the republic has been implementing a program for capital repairs of children's camps, reports the press service of the President of the RT. Thanks to this program, more than 60% of recreation organizations have been renewed. In particular, six republican camps of year-round operation have been rebuilt. For 5 years, the capacity in the repaired camps has been increased by more than 4.5 thousand people.
Leila Fazleeva, the deputy prime minister of the RT, Damir Fattakhov, the minister of Youth Affairs of the RT, and others also attended the inspection.
