Representatives of the housing sector of the Volga Region studied the experience of Kazan on renovation the water disposal system

<p> The issues of renovation of the water disposal system and wastewater treatment facilities were discussed today at the Executive Committee of Kazan at a practical seminar of the Association of cities of the Volga Region. The participants of the event were representatives of the housing sector. Prior to the seminar, the guests visited biological treatment facilities of MUE Vodokanal, including the construction site of a plant for heat treatment of sludge, and visited the construction site of KNS “Zarechnaya”. </p> <p> Deputy head of the Executive Committee Iskander Giniyatullin welcomed the participants of the seminar. “I am sure that this is a useful event, because all cities have similar problems in the operation of water utilities and treatment facilities,” he said. </p> <p> First deputy General Director of the enterprise Marat Salakhov told about three major projects that are being implemented within the long-term investment program of MUE Vodokanal until 2028. The first of them is the construction of a new sewage station “Zarechnaya” with a design capacity of 20 thousand cubic meters per hour. The facility is planned to be put into operation next year. </p> <p> The second project is the ceiling of the frames of treatment facilities, which cause the unpleasant technological smell. According to M. Salakhov, the problem was solved by modern technologies- some facilities were covered with specialized constructions that neutralize the technological smell, with keeping the technology of wastewater treatment. </p> <p> The third large-scale project is the construction of a production facility for thermomechanical processing of the resulting sludge at the treatment facilities. Construction of the facility, which is necessary to stop the export of newly formed sediment to the sludge pit, has already begun. </p> <p> Deputy General Director of Vodokanal also spoke about plans for the reclamation of sludge pitы with a total area of more than 100 hectares, which are located in the Volga region between the villages of Otary and Staroe Pobedilovo near the Kuybushev Reservoir. Marat Salakhov noted that there are no successfully implemented projects for the reclamation of sludge pits in Russia. More than a dozen different technologies of reclamation were considered. </p> <p> One of the technologies of reclamation of sludge pits, successfully tested in Kazan, was the method of treatment of sewage sludge using quicklime and activated zeolite. It was carried out on a site of 64 sq. m. The testing, conducted in Kazan, aroused the interest of the participants of the seminar. </p> <p> For information, the seminars for representatives of different areas of the urban economy are held in Kazan by the Association of cities of the Volga Region regularly. So, in the summer, the participants of the Association studied the experience of Kazan on the introduction of separate waste collection. </p>
