Representatives of 23 countries applied for participation in the first stage of the FINA World Cup in swimming in Kazan

Such famous athletes as Yuliya Efimova and Vladimir Morozov will take part in the competition.

(KZN.RU, August 24). The first stage of the FINA World Cup in swimming in the season of 2018 will gather about 250 strongest athletes in Kazan. For today, representatives of 23 countries sent applications for participation. The tournament will be held in the Palace of Water Sports from 7 to 9 of September.

The FINA World Cup participants will include such famous sportsmen as Katinka Hossu (Hungary), Chad Le Clos (South Africa), Sarah Shestrem (Sweden), Yuliya Efimova, Vladimir Morozov, Anton Chupkov, and Kirill Prigoda (Russia), Mitchell Larkin (Australia), and others.

One of the most prestigious international competitions is held by the International Swimming Federation FINA annually. The tournament consists of seven stages, divided into three clusters. The first one includes stages in Kazan and Doha, the second one – in Eindhoven and Budapest, the third one – in Beijing, Tokyo, and Singapore. In the first cluster, athletes will compete in the 50-meter pool. The organizers will give 32 sets of awards in individual program types and 2 in relay races, reports the Directorate of Sports and Social Projects.
