The poetry festival will be held in Kazan on the Mother Language Day

April 26 is the birthday of the Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay.

(KZN.RU, April 24). On April 26, Kazan will host events dedicated to the Mother Language Day. This holiday is celebrated on the birthday of Gabdulla Tukay, one of the founders of the modern Tatar literary language, poet, publicist and public figure.

At 8.10 am, flowers will be laid on the monument to the poet in the park of G. Tukay. After that, the building of the Kazan Tatar State Theater of the Young Spectator named after G. Kariev will open on Peterburgskaya Street, №55b.

The program of festive events also includes a gala concert and the presentation of the State Prize of the RT in the Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after M. Jalil.

At noon, a poetry festival will be held near the monument to G.Tukay on Teatralnaya Street.
