Free visiting of the Kazan Kremlin museums

March 8

On March 8, women will be able to visit museums on the territory of the Kazan Kremlin for free in honor of the International Women's Day.

A free concert in the park “Chernoe Ozero”

March 8 at 2 pm

A free concert of a cover band “Tamara project” will be at the rink in the park “Chernoe Ozero”. The mass skating season will close on this holiday weekend, the skating rink will work the last day on March 10.

A Jazz music concert

March 8 at 5 pm

A festive concert of jazz music with the participation of stars of the Russian and Italian scenes will be held in the CC “Moskovsky”. Special guests will be Emanuele Chizi (Italy, saxophone) and Francesca Tandoi (Italy, vocals, piano). Lilia Chugunova (vocals), Vladimir Chigarev (vocals), Alexander Terentiev (vocals), Yury Shcherbakov (saxophone), “Dr.Vaks Band”, and “Birdcatchers” will take part in the concert.

The rich program is prepared for the guests: jazz dance and floristics master classes, an exclusive lecture by Viktor Radzievsky, a renowned jazz expert, a journalist, and a producer, and original photo zones. The Skirt Race

A special women's ski race in skirts at 500 meters distance, as well as a competition for the best outfit with a separate prize fund will be held in Yudino at the stadium “Lokomotiv”.

Festival of Indian Music and Dance

March 9 at 6 pm

A concert will be held in the conference hall of the Grand Hotel Kazan where guests can get acquainted with the values of oriental culture and colorful music. Indian musical style Qawwali with the addition of Sufi poetry, classical Raga, Kathak dance, which means “conversation with the audience”, and mixing different genres of music and dance into a fusion will be presented at the concert.

The entrance to the festival is free, by prior registration.

A charity project “For Mothers. Together”

March 8 and 9

On the eve of International Women's Day, a charity project called “For Mothers. Together” will take place in the Gorkinsky-Ometievsky forest. Until March 9, residents of the city can leave gifts to women from the social home “Kolybel” in the cafe “Les” and the coffee shop “Divan Coffee”. Pregnant women and young mothers who were left homeless stay in this center. The coffee shop “Divan Coffee” will serve a cup of filter coffee to all participants of the project as a gift.

Maslenitsa

March 8, 9, and 10

Maslenitsa festivities will be held in Kazan this coming weekend. Citizens and guests of the capital will be able to immerse themselves in a holiday atmosphere in parks and squares, on the Kremlin Embankment, the central site in an ice town near the Family Center “Kazan”, and also on the territory of Lebyazhie Lake. The entertainment programs, games, contests, theatrical performances, as well as traditional treats of pancakes with various fillings will be organized at all sites.

Spring Festival in the historical park of the RT

March 8, 9, and 10 at 11 am

Kazan citizens and guests of the capital will be told about the stories, destinies and interesting facts of the great women of the Russian Empire in the historical park “Russia is my History”. In addition, visitors to the historic park will be able to participate in the entertainment quiz “Outstanding Women of the USSR” during the festival.

There will also be a retro-style photo zone, and the youngest visitors and their fathers will be able to please their beloved mothers, wives, grandmothers, and daughters by making holiday souvenirs.

The entrance to the event is free. The festival will be open from 8 to 10 of March from 11 am.

The Kazan Ski Marathon

March 10 at 9 am

On March 10, the 52nd Kazan Ski Marathon will be held at the stadium “Lokomotiv” in Yudino. The registration officially opened on December 5, 2018, on the Kazan Ski Marathon website kazanxcski.ru. The start at a distance of 25 and 50 km will be at 10 am. Participants, who have chosen a distance of 5 km, will go on the road at 9 am.
